Um vor dem Winter zu flüchten braucht ihr nun nicht mehr hunderte Kilometer südwärts zu reisen, sondern nur knappe fünf Meter abwärts. Denn am 25. März verwandeln wir das Subzero zur offenen Safari-Zone! Präsentiert wird das Abenteuer von Liza Lauder und Defex, vormals Mit-Initiator der legendären TEEHAUS-Partys im Subzero. Fortgeschrittene Tierliebhaber haben im Haupt-Dschungel die einmalige Chance, die tierischsten DJ-Viecher der Stadt in freier Wildbahn zu beobachten: Der Flex-Platzhirsch Crazy Sonic, die resolute Wildsau Slick, das Camouflage-Chamäleon Detronic und der bayrische Bogaloo-Bär Defex tragen ihre elektrifizierenden Brunftschreie vor, und das zum Angreifen nahe. Doch Vorsicht: Eine Safari ist kein Streichelzoo, und so lieb die Viecherl auch dreinschauen, hinter den Plattenspielern werden sie garantiert zur wilden Bestie. Und wenn sie mal zubeißen ist es zu spät, denn gegen eine deftige Electro-Techhouse-Infektion hilft das beste Serum nichts. Wem das gnadenlos animalische Tiertreiben doch zu wild wird, der findet an der Subzero-Bar eine Oase der Erfrischung. Eure persönlichen Wasserträger dort heißen TJ Hicks, Baumann und Franz Otto, und verwöhnen euch mit fruchtigem Minimal, saftigem Deep House und exotischem NuJazz. Das alles und viel mehr wird dem Pauschal-Abenteurerer im Subzero feilgeboten, und das zum unschlagbaren Schnäppchenpreis: 3,- vor Mitternacht, 6,- danach, exklusive Minibar. Für eure eigene Sicherheit empfehlen wir die Mitnahme von festem Schuhwerk (um für die stundenlangen Stammes-Tanzrituale gewappnet zu sein) und natürlich eines Safari-Huts (damit der Schweiß von der Decke nicht auf eure Frisur tropft). sonstiges	Can Oral, aka Khan, was born of a Finnish mother and Turkish father, and grew up as an outsider in a hostile Germany. He started his first band Mut zum Schlag (Courage to the Beat) in 1982 with 2 drummers and Khan screaming, and released the first German hip hop/no wave record. He eventually tired of the rock-band life of rehearsals and beer, bought a cheap Atari computer and Prophet 2000 sampler, and started making music for German and Austrian TV programs. In the late 80s, Khan met the Time Tunnel/Structure posse from Cologne and started making techno with people like Walker, Jammin Unit, Mike Ink. and Jorg Burger. In 1992 he left for New York, where he lived with Jimi Tenor and had a band called Public Extacy that played the early NY Illbient/Lalalandia parties. In their cockroach-infested kitchen studio, they also recorded hundreds of records such as the Bizz OD smash hit “I’m Coming Out Of Your Speakers” that became one of Junior Vasques [Sound Factory]’s favorites. In 1994, Khan opened Temple Records (an electronic record store in Manhattan) and started the El Turco Loco label. Once he realized that his least favorite DJs were spinning his records, Khan decided to change his style and became one of ambient’s most innovative producers, with projects like H.E.A.D. , Global Electronic Network, Radiowaves and 4E, recording for such labels as Mille Plateaux/Force Inc., Harvest, and Rising High. These records had significant impact on the UK Fat Cat, Ifach, and Ninja Tune scenes. In 1999, Matador released the electro-porn quasi-soundtrack 1-900-GET-KHAN, and a “greatest hits” compilation of sorts, Passport, in early 2000, No Comprendo in summer 2001. Khan is currently living between Berlin, NYC and Mexico exploring new languages, art, and music, and remaining an "outsider" until the term becomes irrelevant. He has worked with artists such as: Julee Cruise, Andre Williams, Kid Congo Powers, Francoise Cactus [Stereo Total], Hanin Elias [Atari Teenage Riot], Jon Spencer, Diamanda Galas, Air Liquide, Jimi Tenor, Lukas Ligetti, Thomas Brinkmann, The Modernist, Little Annie & Christian Jandreiko and many many more.......

sonstiges	Nach dem freitägigen IckeMicke´schen Overkill ist die Camera als Partylocation rehabilitiert. Und zugleich, so ist zu befürchten, auch schon wieder etabliert. Nichts desto trotz wird es Abende geben, an denen die Camera ihre intime Schönheit Preis zu geben vermag. Zum dritten Mal wird es dort im Rausche der Nacht ein “Tribute to ...” geben, bei dem die Gäste mit Haut und Haar dem Beat anheim fallen. Bei feinstem Minimal-Techno&House wird dort getanzt bis die Sperrstunde schlägt. An ihren Trickkisten arbeiten Dean Youngblood, Rndm & Mark Knochen und als Gastköche sind diesmal Nin & PHF aus dem Rashimsektor mit dabei.

sonstiges	Bauchklang Sicher eines der interessantesten und innovatisten Projekte, das in den letzten Jahren von Österreich aus für Aufsehen sorgte. Die sechs Vokalisten haben das Genre A-Cappella praktisch neu erfunden und ins Jahr 2000 übersetzt. Mit virtouser Stimmbeherrschung, Mouthpercussion und Human beatbox generieren BK einen Gesamtsound, dessen großes Klangspektrum und Massivität für den Zuschauer oft kaum nachvollziehbar ist - und umsomehr beeindruckt. BK verdichten und verbinden dub, reggae, hiphop, drum´n bass zu facettenreichen, komplexen Klangbildern. grooveorientiert und zugleich sphärisch. 2001 wurde Bauchklang mit zwei ´Amadeus Awards´ ausgezeichnet. Die letzten zwei jahre arbeitete bauchklang neben den vielen Live-Auftritten an ihrem zweiten Album ´Many people´, das vor kurzem in den Läden erschienen ist! Mit ihrem neuesten Songs touren sie nun durch ganz Europa und lassen es sich natürlich nicht entgehen auch hier bei uns halt zu machen.

Miami, FL (January 26, 2006) – The world famous Ultra Music Festival announced today that Hot Hot Heat, Paul van Dyk, Hard-Fi, Carl Cox, Perry Farrell, Danny Tenaglia, Richie Hawtin, Mauro Picotto, Armand van Helden, DJ Hell, BT, Benny Benassi, Nic Fanciulli, Meat Katie, Grooverider and Donald Glaude have joined the all-star lineup for the 8th installment of America’s largest dance music event. These artists join previously announced headliner The Prodigy, along with Paul Oakenfold and Erick Morillo. The event will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami. Formed in 1999 and hailing from Victoria, B.C., Hot Hot Heat will be making their UMF8 debut appearance headlining the Ultra Live Stage. Touring last year with Weezer and the Foo Fighters, this indie synth band has earned critical acclaim for songs such as “Goodnight, Goodnight.” Their latest album Elevator combines 60s mod rock, 70s progressive and 80s new wave punk into their own unique dance music and their hit single “Middle of Nowhere” is quickly rising up the charts. Making his 8th appearance at the UMF, legendary German DJ/Producer Paul van Dyk was recently named #1 DJ in the world by DJ Magazine. A proven leader of his genre, van Dyk was one of the first artists to receive a Grammy nomination in the newly added category of Best Dance/Electronic album for his 2004 release Reflections. His latest album The Politics of Dancing Volume 2 was released last year and remains in the top 20 Electronic Album charts. Hailing from West London, Hard-Fi just received two Brit Award nominations: Best British Group and Best British Rock Act. Their 2005 debut album release of Stars of CCTV and their single “Cash Machine” enjoyed immediate commercial success and their sound is being called “Diska,” a merging of disco, punk and dub music. Hard-Fi was recently profiled on MTV’s “You Hear it First” and are currently topping the UK Charts. Washington DC native BT burst onto the music scene with his amazing remix of Tori Amos’ “Blue Skies.” Since then, he has parlayed his passion for music into composing the soundtracks for such films as Monster and Jarhead. He also served as Executive Producer on the hit NBC reality show “Tommy Lee Goes to College.” Meanwhile, Italian dance sensation Benny Benassi is making his 1st appearance at UMF 8. Perhaps best known for his smash hit single “Satisfaction,” his music and energy has been burning up the dance floors across the globe. UMF8 also sees the return of Lollapalooza creator Perry Farrell, aka DJ Peretz, and techno genius Richie Hawtin who will be coming fresh off his duty as composer and producer of the Torino Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony on February 10th. sonstiges	Gewinnspiel: 2 x 2 Karten Matt Flores: Matt Flores musikalischen Werdegang im Einzelnen aufzuführen, würde bedeuten ein Buch über die Geschichte der Clubmusik zu schreiben. Matthias Matz Flores begann das DJ`en und MC`en in den späten Achtzigern. Die Affinitedt zu Englands Clubmusiken war schon immer besonders gross, sowie die ewige Verbundenheit zu den altehrwürdigen Müttern der Clubmusik: Hip Hop und Reggae/ Dub. Als Matz dann `93 die ersten Hardcore-Jungle-Tunes von den Ragga Twins oder Rebel MC zu hvren bekam, war es um ihn geschehen. Er war natürlich weiterhin in dem Soundsystem-Ding aktiv, wollte aber seine eigenen Tracks produzieren. Mit J.Buzz bildete er über lange Jahre ein Produktionsteam bis in die Zeit des GUSH COLLECTIVE hinein.... Seine Diskographie umspannt ca 60 (!) Veröffentlichungen, seine Tracks sind auf Labels wie Typhoon, Basswerk (!!!! Basswerk 01!!!), Konter, Wicked Wax, Pathfinder, Draft zu finden. 1998/`99 wurde von J. Buzz und Herb LF das Gush Collective gegründet. Sie starteten ein Garage/Breaks-2Step Kollektiv aus Produzenten, DJ`s, und MC`s, welches in Dortmund, Düsseldorf und Essen ansdüssig war. Innerhalb des GC bildete Matz wiederum mit J.Buzz das Produzenten-Duo 2Smart und kam zu einigen Maxis auf Gush Collective und waren nat\|rlich auch Bestandteil der beiden Longplayer. Kooperationen mit Zed Bias und Tyree Cooper gehvrten zu dieser Zeit zu den Hvhepunkten seiner Laufbahn. Während dieser (Bl\|te-)Zeit (des 2-Step), wollte Matz seine Drum & Bass-Energien dennoch weiter pflegen und gründete sein eigenes Drum & Bass-Label Compiler. 2001 fühlte sich Matz von unserer ersten Compilation Combination Traffic inspiriert. Heraus kam ein toller Solo-Track für Traffic II: Pursuit of Happiness. Das Matt Flores-Imprint war geboren. üKuze Zeit später kam seine 3-Track-Maxi Digital Self heraus, die den eingeschlagenen Weg von Pursuit weiter ausbaute und eine Facette des 2003 erschienenden Albums Metaworld auf die Landkarte schrieb. Nach dem erflogreichen Album schlossen ein paar Maxis und Remixe an , und die musicstyles wurden immer mehr auch in Richtung House erweitert . So die letze maxi LISSI/METAJACK auf Combination , die immer wieder in den Mixtapes von John Tejada auftaucht und auch bei bei vielen anderen Djs grossen Anklang findet . Oder die letzten Sommer erschienende OUTER RIM EP auf METROMUSIC, die es in den Groove Charts immerhin auf Platz 3 schaffte und immer noch von Djs wie AMH gespielt wird. Massive interest by the press followed, hyping the controversial musician. sonstiges	Warum heißt Detroit Underground Techno Detroit Underground Techno? Eh klar, wegen dem Technolabel Underground Resistance aus Detroit. Was alle Djs ab spät nach Mitternacht gerne nachspielen, kommt im März im Original nach Ibk. Hingehen. Aaron Carl aus Detroit ist seit über zehn Jahren eine der treibenden Kräfte der elektronischen Musik. Seit jeher schert er sich denkbar wenig um irgendwelche Genre-Zuschreibungen: Sein Schaffen beinhaltet sowohl soulig-deepe House Nummern als auch schnell und böse steppende Detroit Elektrotracks, die einen komplett vergessen lassen, was sich so alles an Styles Elektro nennt. Aber nicht nur wegen seiner Stil-Offenheit, sondern auch wegen seiner offensiv thematisierten Homsexualität nimmt er in der Techno-Szene eine Ausnahmestellung ein, die weit über seine Heimatstadt hinausreicht. Seit seinen ersten Releases Mitte der Neunziger gehört er zu Detroits originellsten Produzenten. Carl ist der für die Tanzmusik seltene Glücksfall eines echten Songwriters, der den Tracks seine unverwechselbare „geschlechtslose“ Stimme leiht und Anleihen bei Detroits reicher Soul-Vergangenheit nimmt. Releases auf Underground Resistance (das Label warum Detroit Techno auch Detroit Techno heißt), Josh Winks Ovum-Imprint oder dem legendären Elektro-Label Metroplex sprechen eine eindeutige Sprache – mal brummend und lässig, mal zustechend und skurril, mal creepy und sexy, aber immer unglaublich cool… ddkern aka didi kern ist durch seine Projekte Fuckhead, BulBul und Wipeout bestens bekannt. Selten klang Techno in Livesets derart liebevoll und romantisch, dass es einem warm ums Herz wird. Gefühle zu zeigen lohnt sich. Mit seinen Tracks bildet Kalkbrenner das fehlende Bindeglied zwischen Superpitcher und Lawrence. Definitiv einer der momentan besten Liveacts in Germany.
