Gewinnspiel: 2 x 2 Karten Im Februar b Im Februar begrüßen wir mit Nigel Hayes einen Globetrotter der elektronischen Musikszene am Divine. Von Schottland aus machte sich Nigel auf, die größten Metropolen dieser Welt zu erobern. Neben London und New York, zählt seit einigen Jahren Barcelona zu seiner Wahlheimat. Nigel begeisterte unter anderem das Publikum am Sonar Festival in Barcelona, und polarisierte etliche Fans elektronischer Musik mit seinem Projekt "Chaser" (Soma Rec.), welches er gemeinsam mit Funk d´Void gegründet hatte. Bio: Nigel Hayes launched his DJ career in his teens when he began his own weekly jazz-funk/rare groove party Tasty Jam, which featured guests such as Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay, Nicky Holloway and Jasper the Vinyl Junkie. A short stint in Rimini, Italy followed where Nigel played the Blue Note, Cellophane, and his own boat parties, Rimini Afterhours. But it was his move to Glasgow where he quickly secured residencies at the Sub Club with Harri, Rain with Nick Peacock, The Arches and The Tunnel that established Nigel on the DJ circuit. He inaugurated the New York house/disco/soul flavored Liberty City with fellow Bomba Records colleague Colin Gate of Deep Sensation. For two years, Liberty City was Glasgow’s only garage party with guests such as Kid Batchelor, Alan Russell and Femi B. This time also saw the start of Nigel’s recording career with his debut Holdin On as Underground Connection on Imperial Records which featured remix production by Joey Musaphia. A couple of years later, Nigel and former FOPP Records cohort Lars Sanberg (AKA Funk d’Void) formed Chaser with the jazz/techno chart-topper Sides of Iron on Soma as their debut. They then scored the award-winning film Dead Eye Dick for Film on Four and followed up with the Soma EP Life in Loisaida. Simultaneously, Nigel was working with Prescription/Fragile recording artist Abacus (Austin Bascom, A:xus). They debuted as Charly Brown on Chicago’s Guidance Records with Twilight Zone/Sub Club and soonafter released Freaked Out/My Planet Rocks. After a few live performances in Glasgow, he made the big leap across the pond to New York City. While managing the record store Dance Tracks in New York, Nigel continued to record for Guidance Records as NH2, played underground parties, and did regular guest spots on WNYU 89.1FM. Lars was soon over to record Chaser’s debut album in Nigel’s Brooklyn home studio. Game On was released in 1999 and garnered critical acclaim in the music press and received major support from DJ’s such as Gilles Peterson, Ross Allen, Bob Jones, Jazzanova and Ashley Beedle. It also landed them a remix for Marcel on Nuphonic, inclusions on Compost Records’ Future Sound of Jazz series, Schema’s Break n Bossa and Darren Emerson’s Global Underground. They also performed numerous live sets including their debut at Barcelona’s Sonar Festival for an audience of 10,000 and Roskilda in Copenhagen. They are currently working on their second album for Soma. Since his relocation to London, Nigel has recorded as The Prophet for Black Jesus with two singles: Look to the Light and When You Find Love. He has launched his own label Twilight, for which he has recorded as Mutant Jazz with Shades of Red and Charley’s Vault with Hear My Answer/Like I Like It. Charley’s Vault has been included on several compilations including the Mixmag October 2000 and Tyrant. Nigel recorded his first solo album for Saloua Records, a division of Sunshine Enterprises in Vienna, Austria. But Is It Art? was released in October 2000 to major acclaim from magazines and DJ’s worldwide. Nigel continues to DJ internationally in Canada, U.S.A., Germany, Austria, France, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Hungary, Italy and Czeckoslovakia. |

guten morgen!
war am samstag wieder eine super party! roxy randvoll und spitzen stimmung von anfang bis zum ende! viele bekannte gesichter & super publikum in partylaune! big thanxxx an nigel hayes! für mich persönlich ein sehr feines set. zu beginn sehr easy, wie auch der künstler selbst (IMG:http://www.technoboard.at/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) und hats dann fein aufgebaut! zum schluss nochmals alles gute an unsere geburtstagskinder saliva und tom. ebenfalls feine sets. danke tom (my) für loverboy... joa war wieder sehr fein
warmup war sehr schön, nigel sehr gut und abwechslungsreich, saliva auch super! mc mars is net so mein geschmack, sind halt doch seit jahren die gleichen vocals bin schon gegen 4 heim, da irgendwie net so feierlaune aufkam und es für mich persönlich ein wenig zu voll war. greets nochmal an alle |

Hui, nach langer Zeit schreibe ich auch mal wieder ein Review.
Obwohl eigentlich nur ein Katzensprung von mir entfernt, hatte ich noch nie dorthin geschaut. Kann denn Machern nur gatulieren zu ihrer Veranstaltern. Bis auf die Stopfmenge an Leuten hat mir der Abend sehr gut gefallen. Hätte auch nicht gedacht, dass das ne Art 'Kaffeekränzchen' ist, wo so viele mehr oder weniger bekannte Gesichter sind! Auf Grund des Stress-Faktors (auf Grund der Dränge- und Rempelei) sind wir schon um halb 2 oder so abgerauscht. |
