His work was vital in establishing the scene during it’s early days. After ca 20 releases in his first year he already played on several major festivals, including I Love Techno. With a background in classical music (he learned to play the violin), Amok developed a form of Techno both extreme and unique. His style showcases a sophisticated understanding of music not often found with Hardtechno DJs. His sets work on a deeper level and take the audience on a fierce ride on the thin red line between Techno and Industrial. His labels Artillery Records and Crowbar with a combined 50 releases have become household names with Techno and Industrial Hardcore DJs as well. In 2006, Amok started Artillery Bookings with his long time friend ViperXXL. A side project at first, the agency quickly grew into one of the the most important booking agencys for the style, presenting some of the best artists in the scene. During this time he joined forces with Dutch legend Rude Awakening and released two hit singles on Third Movement and Artillery which pioneered a Mix of Hardtechno and Industrial Hardcore. Health reasons forced him to slow down and 2009 saw an extended break from DJing, but he stayed active on the vinyl market with the hit “Cleansing the Sphere” produced with Stormtrooper. As of 2012, Amok has officially retired from DJing (aside from selected festivals and events), but remains active behind the scenes working on his Label Artillery Records and his new project Driving Forces Bookings, which sees him return to his Techno roots... ✶✶✶BIO - RENE REITER✶✶✶ Rene Reiter headlines our show with his nu skull acidtechno sound that uses unique synthesised grooves and style, here's a brief biography of the main man's history..: In the year 2000 Rene Reiter bought the legendary Technics SL1210 turn-tables with a Pioneer Mixer and began to practice 2-3 hours a day to master the art of mixing. After wining a DJ competition in 2002, he becames a residency at the legendary „Cave Club" in Salzburg and started his "Bodyhammer-Partys" there. as a big part of the party scene in austria he took part 3 times at the Unite Parade with his own truck and is now arranging the Collabs Partys with the Club Sakog. He played along side techno legends Oliver Lieb,Commander Tom,Mike Humphrie,D.a.v.e the Drummer,Glenn Wilson,Sterling Moss, Maxx, Alex Calver ,Patrick DSP, Marco Remus,Chris Liberator,Aaron Liberator,Dj PE1,Basic Implant,Felix Bernhard,Cristian Varela,Jack Wax,Steve Mills,Vincent de Witt and many more. The set at USB Festival 2014 wasn't recorded, but I received some mobile phone videos. The sound quality isn't great, but you get a taste of the new sound I'm working on. Over the last years, Hardtechno has bored me. I'm sick of hearing the same loop at the same tempo over and over all night, with a little mini break vocal every 32 beats with some dumb vocal in it. Getting sick of rhythms consisting of nothing more than an overcompressed beat and an open hihat. So I'm taking things into a radically different direction. I started my set with 125 bpm , kept it dark and moody and slowly built my way up to a 175 bpm finale. It confused a few people at first, but I prefer my sets to tell a story and you can't have a good finale without a good setup. I'll record my set next time around. Thoughts on this new direction?
