The set at USB Festival 2014 wasn't recorded, but I received some mobile phone videos. The sound quality isn't great, but you get a taste of the new sound I'm working on.
Over the last years, Hardtechno has bored me. I'm sick of hearing the same loop at the same tempo over and over all night, with a little mini break vocal every 32 beats with some dumb vocal in it. Getting sick of rhythms consisting of nothing more than an overcompressed beat and an open hihat. So I'm taking things into a radically different direction.
I started my set with 125 bpm , kept it dark and moody and slowly built my way up to a 175 bpm finale. It confused a few people at first, but I prefer my sets to tell a story and you can't have a good finale without a good setup.
I'll record my set next time around. Thoughts on this new direction? I'd love to hear them.
