Bio Insect Elektrika
Insect Elektrika was founded in the year 2002 by the Prague/Čelákovice based pals Martin Vodička and Jan Václavík. Met each other at school, as a stubborn students of building industry. Stepwise gentlemen found same interest in minimalistic sounds and started to make first experimental tracks with modest equipment. Passed through drum and bass, techno and electro laps, finally found themselves in minimal-- which is still the base for the current production.

First time IE appears on the scene in the year 2006 (Klika party) and presents own minimal&experimental live concept. Later come offers to play at various events, for instance like a support for Dapayk, Dreikommanull, Kleinschmager Audio, Mandy Jordan & Terrik Mode, Philipp Wolgast, CaTekk or Murcof.

In the year 2007 Insect Elektrika launched own party in Prague called Bubbles Minimal Night with an idea of presenting interesting czech and foreign artists. This year also coming first success on producer’s field –releasing an EP on German label called Vekton musik.

During the year 2008 Insect Elektrika performed its live act on various czech festivals and events. It is time of big changes and extensions for live performance – buying new equipment (Roland MC-909, Elektronmachine drum and Virus-Ti). Also guys met musically similar David Drexler and performed couple experimental gigs in 3 people under the name Insect Elektrika.Exe.

2009 is the watershed mainly in terms of work in the studio. Production humbled the boundaries between genres and it's not just about experimental minimal, but about the symbiosis of techno, house and minimal. The first success came with the release of song „When I met 19“ on the Berlin‘s label Elektrotribe. Followed EPs Promised to be Naughty (Tracer records) and 11 13 15 Ariba (Minimatracx rec.) or remix for Robsounds. Very important milestone is also the appearance on the German festival Nachtdigital where IE reaped huge success with new live concept.

Now concentrating on further work in the studio, the plan is to release a few more before the end of this year.

Martin Vodicka is as well involved in the project called Plankton:Companier (with czech DJ Awacs), which is geared more to chillout/ambient/dub.
