am kommenden samstag ist tyree cooper zu gast!! hier etwas info zu ihm:

It probably all began with the old R & B dusties of his mother, Tyree Cooper was impassionedly listening to.
Growing up on the streets of Chicago’s South Side Tyree Cooper discovered his love for the soul music of the 60ies. A first step was to join his Grammar school band at the age of 13 - playing the flute! His other passion at that time was playing basketball.
Both passions followed him to the high school where he met Mike Dunn and learned how to DJ. Listening to Farley "Jackmaster Funk", “ The Hot Mix 5“, Ronny Hardy and the electrifying energies of Frankie Knuckles, Tyree was well schooled at an early age.
Eventually Tyree's basketball skills awarded him at scholarship to the University of Wisconsin -Stout where the bourgeoning mixing skills were fine tuned.
Two years after college Tyree was already one of the most popular and highly sought-after DJs in Chicago. Then Vince Lawrence, of the garage funk band “Jesse Gang“ (founded by Jesse Saunders) persuaded Tyree to put together a demo tape of his music to start a career as a recording artist.
From now on it was only a question of time before signing the first record deal with the Chicago-based underground label D.J. International - that was in 1986. The first 12" – “I Fear The Night“ (with female vocalist 'Chic') - promptly became an underground classic in Chicago. Other hits followed: “Acid Over“(1988), “Turn Up The Bass“ (1988/89),“'Let's Get Hyped“ (feat. Kool Rock Steady, 1989), “Let the Music Take Control“(1989) and “Hardcore Hip House“ (1989). That was the time when Tyree Cooper created a crossover version of house music together with his friend and fellow DJ 'Fast Eddie' Smith and which was known as hip house. It then caused a furor on the hip hop scene, while today rap vocals are a common feature of the commercial house scene.
Tyree Cooper is now regarded as one of the most influential artists in the international house scene. Already looking back to a respectable discography Cooper founded his own label in 2002: Supa Dupa Recordings. Later one of the most important hip house tunes was released on Epic with the original and some new remix versions: “Turn Up The Bass“, which is surely one of the most important hip house tracks of all times.
Other remixing highlights and hits were undoubtedly Fast Edde “Yo! Yo! Get Funky“, “It`s Alright” from the Pet Shop Boys and the Mixmasters “In the Mix“ which was featured in Madonna’s Truth or Dare. True to the scene Tyree still lives in Chicago spreading his roots also in Europe’s exciting capitol Berlin - doing what he does best.... spinning and traveling to Europe for gigs and producing new tracks on his own record label Supa Dupa Records and of course together with shik stylkö for realbasic recordings

heute mit Samir Maslo (Peppermint Jam - Purple Music)
Samir Maslo might not (yet) be a household name for some of the general public, but although he currently holds the status of a rising star, musical success is no novelty to this top-producer. His mother says that as a kid, instead of playing with toys, Samir prefered to play with his parents record collection, which eventually led him to start selling his first, self-made mix-tapes at the innocent age of 9. His birthland Germany and his Croatian roots allowed him to explore and understand the musical development in both countries and have an insight into the emerging local club-communities. So at just 16 years he was invited to play in one of Croatia's most prestigeous venues, the Hacienda club in front of 1000 frenetic clubbers, and believe me, it wasn’t his last gig at this location. After spending 3 years as a successful DJ at various clubs in Croatia and surrounding territories, Samir moved back to Munich where he discovered his true calling: producing music. With a musical background ranging over more than a decade, and his experience as a DJ qualify’s him as a credible “Dance Producer”. His first productions soon managed to gain the acclaimation and respect of his peers in Munich, and eventually bringing him to the attention of few record labels. His first official release in 1992 was "Cheap Orgasm" on Syn Records under the moniker of S.M. Paax. From this moment on, Samir's star was quickly on the rise: after various productions, he started the renowned “Soul Experience Project” in 1997, featuring the great Mel Canady on vocals. They also released their first internationally successful single "Mind Games". By this time, Samir's work was highly sought after. He worked on remixes for big-name artisits such as Mothers Finest, Xavier Naidoo, Lou Bega, Ron Caroll, Soul Providers, or Terence Trent D'Arby, just to name a very few. His version of Milk & Sugar's hit-single "Love Is In The Air" was a fav amongst many of the leading DJs, plus his ongoing collaborations with acts such as Sin Plomo, Michelle Weeks and Sabrynaah Pope, led to another string of club-hits. It was with Cambis that Samir founded his own label, Excited Records, in 2001. But in 2002, before signing a major album deal, Samir decided to take a break from the music scene. He thought that it was just the best time to step for a moment and reflect on his accomplishments. But this retreat should not be a definite one. In 2006, after moving to Vienna and getting in touch with the local scene and some of the countries leading producers, (including Sergio Flores and Greg Usek), Samir revitalized his energy and finally decided to follow his true calling again. Now, his new productions sound fresher than ever, and securing himself a wider fanbase, as well as the ongoing support from leading Dj’s. His 2007 remix for Rock-singer Eric Papilaya paved the way to a remix for the infamous Purple Music camp. His remix of the club-anthem "Hold On! (That Piano Track)" by Sergio Flores Vs. Mitomi Tokoto, could be heared in many of the worlds clubs throughout the summer. Other remixes to date, such as “The Black Beatniks” and “Zlemtree”, are already causing a big stir in the scene at the present , while top-labels like Prog City and Peppermint Jam are also inerested in his work as well. After having shared the decks with many legendary DJs (incl. Marshall Jefferson, Tyree Cooper, Armand van Helden, Basement Jaxx, Tom Novy, Mousse T, Claude Monnet, Boris Dlugosch, Towa Tei, Sin Plomo, Spiller, etc.....) Also playing at some of The World’s Most Famous Clubs, ie... Amnesia (Ibiza), The End (London), Aurora & Hacienda (Croatia), Sage Club (Berlin), and the KW, 8Seasons & P1 (both Munich) We welcome Samir back to the Club-Circus, where he is proving once again, why he has established himself not only as producer, but also as master on the decks.

diesen Samstag: Huntermatic EP release party

This groovy and catchy tune Huntermatic that fuses elegantly House and Downtempo over a fat and bouncy bassline and that features the voice of Shadee of Motown fame was one of the best moments of Rodney Hunter´s second full-length Hunterville. G-Stone decided to give further highlight to this song and enrolled talented producers Skwerl and Trick & Kubic for manic 12” that will definitely find his place in the bag and DJ sets of people such as Kruder & Dorfmeister, Gilles Peterson, Rainer Trüby or The Stereo MCs to name but a few.

Mike Beim aka Skwerl has made himself a name in the nu-jazz community and Viennese DJ-scene thanks to numerous gigs in and outside of Austria under the alias Jazzymike. This big fan of Jaco Pastorius already played alongside some big fishes but always had an acute ear for production. His first 12“entitled The Flying Squirrel released on Trickski’s Member Of The Trick 12" series under Sonar Kollektiv already took him a long way. Indeed the number All woman that features power house vocals by Hubert Tubbs has been canned by many DJs worldwide and got even re-released on the famous Defected house label. His remix treatment has an incredibly infectious jazzy groove and his housey synth melodies will heat up the floors and get some asses moving from the left to the right!

On the flipside Trick & Kubic are coming up strong with a great version of Huntermatic: minimal, bouncy and simply mental! The 2 Berlin Boys who delivered excellent releases on labels such as Get Physical and Great Stuff Recordings and notably the infamous Orbital Dance Machine, which got Fat Boy Slim rolling on the floor screaming for more, show off their impeccable skills, their affection for fat bass beats and their addiction to analog synth lines. Their remix is a surefire dancefloor filler that will get the crowd in a proper raving frenzy! Last but not least the original version of Huntermatic is also present on the flipside!

This is the icying on a very hot musical pie! With this winner record G-Stone Recordings will definitely spreads the Hunter legend all around the world!
