Location: il MURETTO via Roma Dx 120 Lido di Jesolo (VE) http://www.ilmuretto.net uentin (Norman) Leo Cook, went to boarding school in Brighton in the 1980s. It is a kind of second home that he returns to twenty years later, in 2002, for a mega-concert on the beach in front of some 250,000 spectators. It was 6th July 2002 and now – four years and one month later - Fatboy Slim (this name should mean a bit more to you) changes beach and sea. On Sunday 6th August, the world’s most famous DJ will be on Jesolo’s Lighthouse Beach for a concert that will become part of the album of the city’s great, historical events. The comparison with the memorable Brighton live set of 2002 is almost inevitable: since then Fatboy Slim has created a very close tie with the beach environment and in his world tours he favours seaside venues, such as Rio de Janiero, Mali, Ibiza and San Francisco. And now it’s Jesolo’s turn to host the Italian leg of the Fatboy Slim World Tour, "Why Try Harder - Greatest Hits", from the title of his latest album: a sample of his unmistakeable repertory scattered with hip hop, R&B and breakbeat treasures. This live performance – we can assure you – will certainly be far more than a simple concert: that kind of stuff is for standard artists, whereas Norman Cook Fatboyslim is an authentic living legend, who together with the Chemical Brothers (who also came to Jesolo in September 2004) created one of the most interesting trends of the past twenty years: Big Beat, which he now re-proposes in his first greatest hits album, containing more than just his hits from the last ten years, but also the legendary remixes of the singles "Brimful Of Asha" (by Cornershop) and "I See You Baby" (Groove Armada), and two brand new FBS productions. Sixteen in all, the milestones of his career, plus two previously unreleased pieces: ranging from "Rockafeller Skank" and "Praise You" (whose memorable video was directed by Spike Jonze, also known as the author of the cult video "Weapon Of Choice"), to the more recent hits "Sunset (Bird of Prey)" and "Slash Dot Dash", through to the track that has invaded radio and TV stations in recent weeks "That Old Pair of Jeans". The appointment is therefore for Sunday 6th August on the Lighthouse Beach, from 6.00 p.m. to midnight. Tickets cost 20.00 Euro (plus 3.00 Euros for pre-sales). Fatboy Slim is fucking in the heaven - and it was fucking heaven on the beach in Jesolo!!!
Nur schade, dass man so weit fahren muss um ihn zu sehen. |
