lineup & flyer update!

Ende Mai laden wir wieder zur STADTPARK NACHT in die PRATERSAUNA. Dieses mal feiern wir unter anderem zusammen mit unseren Freunden aus Zürich. CITYFOX dürfte mittlerweile wohl jedem ein Begriff sein. Eines der renommiertesten Party- und Plattenlabels wird am 27.05. in der Pratersauna ein Gastspiel abhalten.

Mit dabei sind zwei ganz besondere Label Acts. Zum einen DIGITALINE live. Die zwei Jungs aus Lausanne sind schon längst überfällig. Einzeln (GREGORYTHME & LAPS) hatten wir sie bereits schon in Wien, doch im Doppelpack sind sie fast unschlagbar was "PSY-HOUSE" anbelangt. LUCIANO setzt schon seit Jahren auf die beiden (6 Release auf CADENZA!)

Weiters freuen wir uns auf den Main Cityfox Headliner LEE JONES! Man kennt Lee als den massgebenden Produzent hinter der MYMY Band aus Berlin. Seine Solo Produktionen fand man in div. Magazinen (Groove, De:Bug,…) ganz oben in den Charts. Er macht Musik die fröhlich klingt, aber auch jeden Dancefloor ohne Probleme zum explodieren bringen kann. Tracks wie Safari, Aria oder YOYO sind der beste Beweis. Neben Cityfox released er Musik auf Watergate, Aus, Playhouse oder Liebe + Detail.

Markus Lindner (seit letztem Jahr offiziell CITYFOX Resident) und Lampert bedarf es wohl keiner längeren Vorstellung. Florian Scheiben und A:Lex werden diesmal gemeinsam mit einer sehr talentierten newcomerin aus Wien, Misonica und Dan Buri aus Bangkok den zweiten Floor beschallen.

Ausserdem dürft Ihr euch wieder auf visuelle Spezialeffekte im Cityfox und Stadtpark Style freuen! (An dieser Stelle noch vielen Dank an die Lichterloh Jungs für die hilfreichen Hände).

DIGITALINE

Digitaline is a live act project formed by the Swiss producers Laps (Laurent Bovey) and Gregorythme (Gregory Poncet), who work together in Lausanne and Berlin since 2001.

What began as a bit of fun between two friends turned into various long live sessions and club nights between Lausanne and Zurich, slowly bringing them closer to finding a sound of their own - music full of atmospheric detail, sometimes a little abstract and sometimes more narrative, but always deep grooves made for the club.

Their work became more serious in 2005, when they released their first EP (‘Rubicube’) on Cadenza, after they had given some of their tracks to Luciano. With the help of this new collaboration, Digitaline’s music instantly got international recognition. In 2007, their first longplayer (‘Anticlockwise’) and another EP (‘Honululu’) came out. The next step was playing live gigs in places such as Panorama Bar, Mutek 2007, Movement (DEMF) 2007, Fusion Festival, Fabric, Rex Club and DC10.

After more then one year touring with their fully acclaimed deep techno live act, the duo went back to the studio end of 2008. Their studio collaboration went a step further with these two releases out beginning and end of summer 09 : Seeking Attention Ep on Zürich based label City Fox Records and Oz factor Ep on Cabanne's label Minibar From Paris. Both records go in the same direction into electronic dance music, deep grooves, concrete atmospheres, organic synthetizers and a bright sense of repetition.

LEE JONES

Lee grew up in Essex, England, but can almost call himself a Berliner now, having moved there from London 8 years ago, the very same week the Watergate club opened.

During the late 90's, producing and performing as Hefner, he became involved with the post-drum and bass, downbeat, lounge sound of the time, remixing the likes of 4Hero, Cinematic Orchestra and Lamb, and releasing the album Residue in 2000. As a resident at the new Plastic People club, he first tried to find a way to express his musical taste in a club environment.

It was only when he moved to Germany in 2002 to be with his girlfriend, inspired by the new soundtrack he discovered during long Kreuzberg nights, that he finally traded his jazz chords for dancing shoes, and with MyMy began to explore the world of house and techno.

Together with Panorama Bar resident Nick Höppner, they toured in a total of 27 countries and appeared on labels such as Ostgut Ton, Circus Company and Playhouse, where they released the album Songs for the Gentle in 2006. In 2010, after 5 years together, MyMy decided to go their own ways and to stop their monthly parties at Watergate where Lee had developed his skills as a DJ. He would now focus on establishing himself as a solo DJ and Producer, and one of Watergate's main residents.

Having played keyboards, guitar and bass since he was young, Lee is always searching for musicality in his sound. His approach in the studio comes from his love of song writing and composition, influenced by classical music, jazz and film soundtracks. For some time his solo releases and remixes have been popping up on labels such as Aus Music, Ostgut Ton, Liebe*Detail and Cityfox, and in 2008 he released his debut LP "Electronic Frank" on Aus Music.

In 2010 Lee did his first ever mix CD for the world famous Watergate Club . The number 07 of this series was released in mid October and he did many exclusive tracks and remixes for this mix so there will be a lot of new stuff out on vinyl (for example a single on Watergate Records) in the next months.
