LOCALREC.RO is being launched in 4 major European cities LOCALREC.RO, an online platform dedicated to the promotion of the Romanian electronic music producers, is being officially launched. Our label will be showcasing 12 artists in 4 different gigs, in Berlin, Vienna, London and Barcelona, throughout September and October. This project has been made possible because ORDU (Romanian Organization for the User's Rights) has won a Cantemir grant from the Romanian Culture Institute in 2010. There are 15 local electronic music producers on LocalRec.ro. Each artist has his own section on the website where he or she is presenting his work, via audio streams, and other informations. LocalRec.ro's blog is constantly updated with gigs dates and locations and will also cover the European shows with pictures, clips and reviews. The 15 above mentioned artists are: Alien Pimp, Bogdan, Candlestickmaker, Cosmin TRG, Cristi Cons, Discoballs, Inner, Makunouchi Bento, Minus&Ion, The Model, Poor Relatives, Silent Strike, Sillyconductor, Suie Paparude. We we will add an extra artist every month. LOCALREC.RO will pe promoted in Europe with 4 shows, each featuring 3 artists for every European city. We will freely distribute 2000 CDs from our BUZZ.RO! 2010 compilation, a CD that presents some of our 17 artists's work, to various labels, show organizers, foreign artists and journalists. On this CD, beside the music, the booklet has some info about the Romanian electronic music scene, about LOCALREC.RO and its artists and some info about the Creative Commons licensing. Alternative licensing such as Creative Commons allow an updated use of the copyrights in a way that allows the audience to have an easier access to musical creations. Also, the artists are encouraged to better collaborate. The tracks on BUZZ.RO! 2010 have a Creative Commons Romania 3.0 license and they can be freely played and distributed both online and offline. This compilation can be downloaded on our website, localrec.ro. The launching shows will take place in this order: Berlin: Vlad Caia, Cristi Cons, Inner / 3 septembrie, club M.I.K.Z. Viena: Cosmin TRG, The Model, Alien Pimp / 17.09.2010 / club Fluc Wanne Londra: Silent Strike, Sillyconductor, Bogdan / 8.10.2010 / The Vibe Bar Barcelona: Makunouchi Bento, Minus&Ion, Poor Relatives / 29.10.2010 For the past 15 years, the Romanian electronic music scene improved its attitude and artistic awareness. We believe its high time to focus on the essence of a music scene, its producers. Until now, they have been working by themselves and they used to share their music to a very small audience. The public is not aware of their existence and does not perceive them as an artistic movement of any kind. This lack of communication combined with a lack of growing opportunities (such as the chance to be heard by a bigger audience, to have local and international success, to be appreciated, supported and promoted) discourages any future music enthusiast who is thinking about taking this path. Enter LOCAL RECORDS – an electronic music promoting platform that will make Romanian works available to both a local and an international audience, in a coherent and systematic way and in an updated shape than previously attempted by any other label. LOCAL RECORDS wants to create an artistic community based on shared interests and to discover a new Romanian sound by encouraging producers who currently don’t have the stimuli to persevere and reach the next level. LOCAL RECORDS is an atypical label because it does not sell music, it just promotes it. We don’t work with money, we work with enthusiasm. La boum de luxe Session im Fluc - Rumänien ist im Haus! Localrec.ro, ist eine Onlineplattform für elektronische Musik aus Rumänien. Zur Feier des Launches schwärmen die auf dieser Seite vertretenen Djs und Producer aus und bespielen im Rahmen einer Tour mehrere Städte Westeuropas. Heute (17.9.) macht eine Abordnung bestehend aus CosminTRG, The Model und Alien Pimp Tourstop im Fluc - unterstüzt von "The Usual Suspects"-Residents.
