His career so far has seen releases on the Fool's Gold and Exploited labels alongside 5 albums released since 1999 and an upcoming release on Southern Fried. Voted Top German DJ in 2008 owing to his cutting edge dirty grinding electro sound and reputation for smashing dance floors the world over, Malente is showing no signs of losing momentum with a constant stream of new releases and remixes being unleashed. Read more...It all started with his first 12" "Fertig" and subsequent debut album released in 2000 "The Spirit Of Malente" which included “I Sell Marihuana“, a reflection of his early signature sound of 70s funk and electronic grooves. Picking up MTV support with their broadcast of the “We Came To Party“ video, Malente’s craft for creating club classics was being seeded in top clubs around Germany. His subsequent drift into his dirty electro sound saw the release of numerous bass heavy bangers on Moonbootique Records including "Washington" (2004), "Crowdrock/Tight With You" (2005), "Hot Daddy" (2006), the massively supported and remixed "Hyperactive" (2008) and "Killer Applikation" which was spun by Tiga, Chris Lake and Crookers. Gaining local as well as international recognition over the years has seen such successes as his 12” “Like a Freek” hitting #1 on the UK’s Breakbeat Mailorder, two 12"ers in the top 10 of German Club Charts at the same time with "Killer Applikation" and "Open Secret" and massive support from DJs worldwide such as Sinden, Hervé, Bloody Beetroots, Zombie Nation, Fake Blood, Surkin, Jesse Rose, Erol Alkan and Brodinski. Malente’s kudos also includes an upcoming release on Fat Boy Slim's label SOUTHERN FRIED with "Bring That Lead Back" which has already reached #2 in the German Club Charts and a release on A-Trak's Label FOOLS GOLD with "I Like It". In amongst a maelstrom of releases and remixes, dance floors around the world have been chomping at the bit to get in front of a Malente set and his heavyweight appearances have been witnessed in clubs and huge festivals in the USA, Canada, Thailand, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Mexico and Australia including the famous Field Day and a headline slot at its renowned Good Vibrations festival. |
