This Wednesday will see Channel Zoo host British mix-master Terry Francis.

Terry Francis has been blazing a trail through the underground scene for over 10 years. With Releases on Pagan and Eukahouse, a long standing residency at London’s Fabric club and his own notorious night Wiggle, one of London’s best loved underground techno nights.

Aside from the continued success of Wiggle and the release of his "Architecture 2" mix album on Pagan, the last few years have seen Terry's career continue to blossom. He's toured all over America, Australia, New Zealand and the far East, made weekly trips to just about every country in Europe and still found the time to record for labels like Hooj Choons, Yoshitoshi, Alien and Primal US.

Since winning Muzik magazines "Best New DJ" award in 1997, Terry Francis has had what can only be described as a meteoric rise to fame and perhaps more than anything else it was his unanimously praised "Architecture" mix album that really put him on the map. His most recent releases such as How Can Something So Deep, 3 Steps Left and Freedom EP have gained support from the likes of John Digweed and Lee Burridge in particular.

With his seamless mix of deep, dubby house and shimmering techno sensibility Terry is known for his instinctive ability to work a crowd. Playing from the heart he blurs the lines between past and present to create the future!

Causing quiet a stir with their first release in 2006 - Mountain001, it came as no surprise to many that The Mountain People comprised already well-versed producers André “Rozzo” Schmid and Philippe “Serafin” Egger. With a steady stream of releases on their label Mountain People since then, they have carved themselves a rich, independent, press-shy valley of quality releases deep in the Swiss alps! Their productions bring deep house to a whole new level, which utilizes elements of sub-genres such as tribalized minimal house to create the unique sound of The Mountain People.

Responsible for the 90's classic “Into your heart” on Bush Records, Rozzo continued to produce stellar tracks with subsequent releases on labels such as Moon Harbour, Plastic City, Tsuba Records and NRK Sound Division to name but a few. He also runs his own label Trackdown Records, which stays close to The Mountain People's ethos by “aiming to release music that energises dancefloors and works well on club sound systems, made neither for purists nor critics, our focus is the joy of dancers.” Serafin is known to many as one of the first artists on Luciano's Cadenza label, his Funk Excursion EP was in the bag of every major DJ in the world. Since then he’s had releases on Bruchstuecke, Liebe*Detail, and Four:Twenty Recordings. Together André and Philippe make up the very talented Mountain People, repeat guests at Channel Zoo, it's clear that they have earned the hearts of the zoo team and we're looking forward to this Wednesday already!

Dutch DJ, producer and label founder Steffi is a notorious worker of styles from electronic-disco to serious Detroit-electro to fat-house. Her extraordinary skills refer to mixing in its original sense, with expert knowledge of the decks she really works the records. With residencies at Amsterdam’s legendary Paradiso club and more recently one at Berlin’s Panarama Bar her career is well and truly established. Her own label Klakson, which she runs with Dutch producer Dexter, has showcased artists such as Fastgraph, Duplex, Seymor Bits, Putsch 79 and Mr. Cisco. A keen promoter of parties herself, Steffi started out promoting an electro night in Amsterdam call Elechicks, followed by an experimental house and techno party named Lomotion.

Most recently she hosted the ambitious Boem Tsjak festival at Pakhuis Wilhemina together with Delsin’s Marsel. Always forward thinking Steffi introduced the likes of ADULT, Two Lone Swordsmen, Marco Passarani and DJ Assault to Amsterdam in order to enhance the already infamous party scene. Multi-talented DJ, Singer, Songwriter and Producer, Virginia has been deeply involved in electronic music for over a decade. Residencies at the cult club Flokati, Tobi Neumann's famous house haven and herlongstanding nights at Sven Väth´s Cocoon club in Frankfurt (which ran for over 3 years) have all played a part in shaping this talented artist. Inspired by the warm and analog tracks of the 80s and 90s, her DJ sets combine this sound with modern records in an exciting fusion, layered with spontaneous live vocals adding a unique third dimension. Her full length album, 'Twisted Mind', was released in 2008 on Rough Trade, co-produced with Eye- Q Records' Steve B-Zet. Viriginia also co-wrote a wealth of productions and guest appearances, alongside the likes of Steve Bug, Butch, Abe Duque and most recently with Panorama Bar resident Steffi, on her album 'Yours & Mine'. Steffi's album focuses two tracks around Virginia's vocals: 'Yours', a rousing hit, and the touching 'You Own My Mind' (both released on Berlin's Ostgut Ton in Feb 2011). Virginia's rich, colourful and vibrant voice has brought a golden touch to her widespread and highly respected release catalogue, she is currently working on her first solo productions which are due in summer 2012.

One of the original producers of the 80's Chicago scene and a Fuse resident for over 15 years . Pierre fuses together scorching acid grooves with pulsating beats, laden with the sultry vocal samples "I'm more or less a minority type producer," he says "I make music for a very select group of people. It's not for the masses. It's for people who really know their music." My music is the center of my world says the beat master "Once I get the vibe going, I can't stop. It's an intense feeling, fusing the rhythm and beats in an underground groove that makes the dance floor shake and people move. It's a very spiritual evolution for me -- one that I take very seriously." Being a resident at Fuse club since 1997, Deg is known for his international career, having played in various venues across Europe. As a producer he has released dozens of records and remixes on major Belgian labels such as Music Man Records, Re-load Records or Groove Kissing.

Spencer Parker is one of Europe's leading DJs. Based in Berlin, he is known for his unique style of house music and is in demand the world over. Having built a strong name for himself as a producer, his remixes and re-edits have been supported by names such as Radio Slave, Luciano, Dinky, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug and Nic Fanciulli.

Spencer's musical style is described as underground house music and his sets include everything from acid house and techno to some cool jackin' tracks and the odd trippy vocal. As well as continuing his highly successful residency for the Rekids label at the world famous Panorama Bar, he has featured at all of Berlin’s best clubs including Watergate, Bar 25, Arena, Wilde Renate and Weekend. It’s not just Berlin that appreciates Spencer’s talents, he’s also played at Rex Club (Paris), Fabric (London), Womb (Tokyo) and Barraca (Valencia) to name but a few. Now established as much for his production and remixing skills as his DJing, this side of his career began in 2005 and he has since released on labels such as Tsuba, Liebe*Detail, Saved, Crosstown Rebels, Nite Grooves, Area Remote, Word and Sound, Buzzin' Fly, King Street, Ovum and Rekids. Having been a big part of the Rekids label from the beginning, in 2009 Spencer was asked to mix the labels first compilation (entitled "Rekids Revolution") which went on to receive rave reviews and was accompanied by an extensive tour and press campaign.

DJ/producer Mike Shannon is founder of the respected Cynosure Records. His first album, Slight of Hand, was picked up by Force Inc in the early 00s, and he’s since released music on Dumb-Unit, ~scape, Wagon Repair and more recently on Hawtin’s Plus 8 Records. Now living and working in Berlin we can’t wait to see this true 'DJ's DJ' at Channel Zoo!

In the mid-90s Shannon founded Pulse Productions, an organisation which grew from a vehicle for small multi-media events for local artists into the weekly Phunktion parties, which brought artists such as Spencer Kincy, Boo Williams, Panty Tec, Traxx, Slam, and Kevin Yost to Kitchener's Club Abstract. In 1999, he was offered a residency at Techno Fridays at Industry Nightclub in Toronto and in the same year he launched Cynosure Recordings. He re-located to Montreal soon afterward to join the city's growing techno scene. As head A&R at Cynosure and formerly Revolver Canada Recordings for over 10 years, Mike has an uncanny ability to select and release tracks which have become go-to fixtures in the sets of the industries best DJ's as well as introducing the work of artists such as Akufen, Deadbeat and Ernesto Ferrerya. Respected by fellow DJ's and music fans alike, his deep crates provide him with the tools needed to whip any dance floor into a relentless techno frenzy!

Jimpster is producer and Freerange Records founder Jamie Odell. Having spent the last 19 years DJing and co-running Freerange Records he’s as in demand as a remixer as he is a DJ. His musical upbringing and early introduction to production and DJing have helped him forge a sound that is warm, deep and innovative.

His first release was on UK label Jumpin’ & Pumpin’ in 1990 and he has since released on Shaddow, Buzzin’ Fly and Kudos. His seminal Jimpster LP Messages From The Hub (1997), as well as his more dance floor orientated Audiomontage 12”s helped establish him as an artist of merit and he quickly became in regular demand as a remixer. Recent artists to get the Jimpster midas touch include Josh Wink, Photon Inc, Osunlade, Joris Voorn, Seal, Marc Romboy, Solomun and many more. His third Jimpster LP Amour was released on Freerange Records to excellent critical acclaim. In recent years he released his first original track for another label, choosing Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly Records for Square Up which went on to become a big underground house track that year. His last 12” for Freerange Records was Sleeper, another deep house anthem which was nominated for numerous Best Dance Single Awards.

With an emphasis on the deeper end of electronic house music, but not afraid to stray from the path, he retains an old school approach that has seen him booked for Fabric and Plastic People (London), Panarama Bar and Watergate (Berlin), Cielo (NYC), Warehouse 702 (Tokyo), Zoo Project (Ibiza), D-Edge (Sao Paulo), GOA @ Fabrik (Madrid), next stop -> Channel Zoo!

Levon Vincent is a DJ, producer, owner of Novel Sound and co-owner of Deconstruct Record Label. Born in Houston, Texas and raised on the East Coast he now calls Berlin home. His unique style of NY house music has been cited as one of the main advocates for the house music renaissance taking place in New York at the moment. Working his way up through landmarks like Sugar Reef (of Sugar Babies fame) or Pat Field’s Boutique, and record stores such as Kim’s, Tower, and Music Exchange, Levon joined a long, proud lineage of fringe arts based around New York’s downtown. Ten years later, in 2001, he began to work at the legendary Halcyon record shop in Brooklyn where he met his future Deconstruct label partner Anthony Parasole, as well as DJ Jus-Ed; who subsequently went on to start the Underground Quality label - the label that has introduced their homegrown sounds to a global audience. Even artists from further a-field like Nina Kraviz or Anton Zap have UQ to thank for first promoting them.

In 2008 Levon began his own label, Novel Sound. The first EP release ‘These Games’ was a hit and featured a track by Jus-Ed. With his industrial beats, Levon’s dubbed-out sound quickly found him support from scene veterans like Craig Richards and Berghain’s Marcel Dettmann.

To date, Levon has played at notorious clubs such as Fabric, Rex Club, Berghain, and of course the infamous Underground Quality party series at the now defunct Tape Club and as a producer he’s released on Novel Sound, Deconstruct, Ostgut Ton, More Music, Underground Quality and mnml ssgs. Hello?Repeat Soundsystem, a duo comprising Jan Krueger & Daze Maxim, are also behind the Hello?Repeat record label established in 2005 in Berlin, Germany.

A guardian and pioneer of quality electronic music, Marcus Manowski aka Daze Maxim does not need much of an introduction, as he has been around for so long. We even remember back in the day, when he released tunes on Sven Vath’s cult Harthouse imprint, creating uber-hysteria at legendary club Omen in Frankfurt in the early 90’s...!! Since then, he's continued to thrill us with his productions, gracing the boxes of every DJ worth his salt across the scene; Villalobos, Hawtin, Luciano and so on. As well as releasing his own tracks, Daze has been creating a stir producing for other artists; check the fantastic EP from Patrick Specke on Desolat for example! Apart from his success as a DJ, LIVE act and Producer, his label Hello?Repeat, which Daze runs in collaboration with Jan Krueger, is a guarantor of quality. The general consensus these days is that it's extremely difficult to make a name for yourself on the international DJing circuit without also being a producer.

Hello?Repeat boss Jan Krueger is one of the few that has successfully proven otherwise! His passion for house and techno music began in the early '90s when he was still living in his birthplace of Düsseldorf, and as the decade progressed he found himself more and more immersed in the scene, working in a local record shop while hosting the likes of Daniel Bell, Matthew Herbert and Steve Bug at his parties. Krueger has recently left Word & Sound and moved to Berlin in order to focus on the label and his DJing career, already holding residencies at the city's Watergate & Panorama Bar clubs as well as at New York top club The Bunker!

Considering it was Secretsundaze who opened the Zoo and set us up for an abominable season only four short months ago it seems only apt that they return to close Channel Zoo in the same style. Secretsundaze is the legendary London day rave responsible for most of the capital’s emergency Monday sick days. Now in its eleventh season, Secretsundaze has gained a reputation as one of the most innovative, exciting and fun places to be for house and techno heads and party people alike. Sharing with Channel Zoo a love of open-air, risqué venues they have hosted some of the most colourful parties Europe has ever seen.

Born and raised in Germany Dana Ruh has experimented with electronic, house and techno music to find her own incomparable sound. Her musical output as a producer led her to regular releases on labels such as Einmaleins, Ostgut Ton, Barraca Music and Buzzin Fly and on her own label Brouqade Records, which she started in 2007. Dana Ruh is no stranger to the underground scene. This year has seen the launch of new label ARAS, founded by Dana Ruh and Andre Galuzzi, the first release being their collaboration, Trambolla EP, which has received DJ support from the likes of Tanzmann, Tiefschwarz, Laurent Garnier, Agoria and Troy Pierce. As a DJ, Dana has played at some of the world's most renowned clubs and parties, including Berlin's Watergate and Panorama Bar.

Encompassing Newcastle, London and Ibiza, the niche parties organised by Jaunt> have paved the way for the exponential growth of their fan base. Priding themselves on bringing the underground to the main stage whilst keeping their feet firmly on the ground and spreading their hospitable ethos, they guarantee quality music and great fun along the way!
