Born and raised in Mainz, Germany, Pooley began collecting records and DJing at the age of 12, and became firmly entrenched in the classic Detroit sounds of Derrick May, Juan Atkins et al. while still a teenager. His first productions surfaced in 1993, a formative time for house and techno as it began it's crossover into mass appeal. Releases on now legendary labels such as Force Inc, Transmat, Junior Boys own, and John Acquaviva's Definitive Records, set the template for Pooley, where there were, and are, no divisions between the genres of house, techno, ambient, acid, latin, afro....Pooley has always made music from the heart, refusing to tow the line of what's fashionable at the time.
