Vienna's unique club and art space, Pratersauna, presents one selected album for a special price each month. This month's choice is John Robert's excellent debut album on Dial, 'Glass Eights'.

Growing up 20-minutes outside of Cleveland, Ohio, might not have exactly predestined John Roberts for a career in house music. Even less likely one tightly connected to one of the most artistic and ambitious imprints in the field, Hamburg's Dial Records.

Yet it has happened, and we have to be all the more grateful for it. With his debut album 'Galls Eights' John Roberts proves that he has truly arrived in Dial's ranks, crafting his subtle house grooves with organic percussions, dreamy piano riffs, and a spot-on sense for the pop experimentalism that distinguishes the Dial sound.

John Roberts has spent time in Chicago and New York before moving to Berlin, and while influences from all these cities can be heard in his music, 'Glass Eights' manages to convey a unique, time- and placeless aesthetic that should ensure its enjoyment not only by sworn in house music fans.
