CODED CULTURES – Exploring Creative Emergences Binational Festival to explore new artistic creative Ability-Profiles within media integrated Delineation Cultures The closing event of the festival CODED CULTURES takes place in the "Hofstallungen" of MuseumsQuartier Vienna. Starting with Pecha Kucha Night and following a Live-Performance of Artist-In-Residence Tetsuya Umeda, the whole event has the topic of contemporary electronic music, featuring a music and DJ selection brought to you by Trust Records and Minimal Tokyo. 8.20 pm: PECHA KUCHA NIGHT 10.30 pm: Live-Performance Tetsuya Umeda 11.30 pm: MINIMAL TOKYO (Live: Shu Okuyama / DJ: Ivan Kuzbass), TRUST RECORDS (DJ: Microthol / DJ: Glow), Visuals: DEXTRO About MINIMAL TOKYO: Minimal Tokyo is an international collective of DJs, producers, designers and media artists. We organize one of Tokyo's top event for electronic dance music with a minimal flavor: minimal techno, click house and tech house. We invite talented underground producers, DJs, and artists to perform at our events. We have had guests from highly respected international labels including Trapez, Müller Records, Milnormodern Records, Force Inc. and op.disk. www.myspace.com/minimaltokyo About CODED CULTURES: CODED CULTURES is a binational festival in the year 2009 to explore new artistic practices and creative ability profiles within media integrated project-cultures and digital media related arts, focusing on Japan and Europe. The festival is part of the official »Austria – Japan Year 2009«. The festival contents are pointing out cultural developments and processes on the intersection of Art, Technology, Science and Entertainment. CODED CULTURES is an initiative of 5uper.net and functions as a creative intermediation-platform for international artists, scientists, curators and producers. An outstanding number of Japanese artists, curators, scientists and producers will exchange their knowledge and practices with colleagues from all over Europe and an interested audience during the Symposium (May 28th – 31st), the Exhibition (May 27th – June 7th) and at the evening event (May 31st) of CODED CULTURES. To intensify the cultural relations between Austria and Japan, in the fore-front of the festival two Artists in Residence and one Scientist in Residence will be attending in Vienna.
