Although fascinated by all electronic genres, he quickly settled on drum and bass when it first appeared commercially in 1995. He then spent the next few years exploring this sonic domain, seeking the darker/techier forms of the sound. In 2000, Pyro and Paul Reset were signed to Trouble On Vinyl, under the Semantix moniker. This made Pyro the first Danish producer to release drum and bass internationally. A DJ career also began to flourish at this time, resulting in Pyro playing the prestigious Roskilde Festival two years in a row. Solo signings quickly followed to labels such as Outbreak and Perspective; with 'Falling' (feat. male singer Shiraz) going straight to 3 on BBC Radio 1's 5 Mighty Rollers chart. Searching for a corner of the scene they could call their own, Pyro & Paul Reset started Nerve Recordings in 2001. Since then, the label has helped propel talents such as Gridlok, Noisia, and SKC into the limelight. Over 20+ releases later (on labels such as Nerve, Collective, Industry, Habit, Leet, Deeper Realms, Shadybrain and others), Pyro has developed a very distinct techno-influenced sound of his own, and has ventured to both mellow and hard territory and recieved support from djs such as raiden, telemetrik, vicious circle, phace and cause4concern. Committed to spreading the techno dnb sound, he's performed all over the US and Europe (including Estonia, Hungary, Russia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Macedonia, Norway, Sweden, and Holland), and has held several residencies in his hometown (Jungle Fever, Dynamics, and DNB Zone). MYSTIFICATION http://www.myspace.com/mystimusic // http://www.discogs.com/artist/Mystification  Norbert Szakacs aka Mystification was born in 15th of August of 1984 in Veszprem, Hungary. His father was a member of a band as a bass guitar player: heritage of Norbert's love of music. In the beginning he was listening to all sort of heavy metal. Around the age of 13 he began to become acquainted with electronic stuffs, huge influence of The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. Going down on dangerous hill trip-hop, breakbeat and drum'n'bass got in his sight. Around the age of 14 or 15 he began to producing music, especially hip-hop. After visiting some drum'n'bass parties he seemed to find his beloved genre, he settled down and engulged in drum'n'bass. At the moment his making hard technoid influenced d&b, and with his elder brother some hybrid sound to compound rough heavy metal and massive drum'n'bass (his brother brings guitar subjects and Mystification produces the stuffs into a track). He has releases on labels like: Black Hoe Alimony (HUN), Aural Carnage (GER), Intransigent Digital (GER), Hell's Bassment (AUS), Hardline (AUS), Manticore (FRA), Wayside (USA). |
