‘Detached [01]’ compiles nine Dumb-Unit tracks with mix from label boss Jeremy P. Caulfield. The 2CD package will be released in February.

Caulfield has been releasing occasional ‘Detached’ mixes for over ten years now, always focusing on the dark, hypnotic side of minimal techno (the Dumb-Unit site has his first effort available for download, recorded live at his parents house in 1996!) A Toronto native, Caulfield located to Berlin in 2003, where he set up Dumb-Unit with a philosophy of focusing on new talent. Fresh faces are evident on CD 1 of ‘Detached [01]’, which collects standout tracks from the label’s last two years, including tracks by Butane, Sweet N Candy and Touane & Nuel.

The second CD is a seventy-three minute mix from Caulfield, who reaches outside of his label to include cuts from likeminded imprints such as Underl_ne, Alphahouse and Triebstoff. Mixed on two turntables with Serato Scratch, the result is “as fresh as I could get away without bootlegging it,” according to Caulfield.

hab gestern endlich diese doppelCD zu hören bekommen und ich denke, dass sie durchaus aufmerksamkeit verdient hat! vor allem die zweite CD ist eine wirklich runde sache und hat einen unglaublichen flow, den ich sonst nur vom feier-michl oder dem villalobos kenne. eben ein mix wie aus einem guss.....
gut, die erste CD gibt einem einen guten überblick über das bisherige schaffen von dumb unit, aber mehr eindruck hat eben die zweite CD auf mich gemacht.

und die mixed one is wie da gitz schon sagt nicht gemixed, sondern gegossen worden *G*
vorallem genau der sound, den ich mir bei jpc erwart (IMG:style_emoticons/default/music.gif)

acuh die unmixed gfällt mir gut, doch noch die ein oder andere nummer dabei, die ich nicht kannte!
