With this release 550 Rondy – whom you might already know as producers of the
tech-house classic “Curvy Traction” on Cheap Records or their Album “My Critical Hertz” here on temp~records - return under the name of “55.rnd” with a BIG HELLO to all those Lovers of minimal Tech-House and Techno music delivering a record that might just turn out indispensable on those mild summer nights that begin as a harmless get-together and develop into a heated thomas-pynchon-like, psychedelic journey that just seems to be endless! Reflecting their musical upbringing with labels like Klang, Playhouse, Sabotage and Cheap Records Catarina Pratter, Matthias Lichtenegger and Martin Stepanek put together a highly versatile yet concise and modern selection of four clubrockin minimal tracks (yes, we tested it!).
The ingredients:
Beginning with a uplifting and elegant housey flavor „peppermint audiomaria“ sets the stage for the cool, mysterious athmosphere of the electro-piece “linus basic mix“.
Turning the record over you’re first blasted away by the monsterous dirty bass of the techno-track “woodstock superfast”. Having gained back consciousness you find yourself in the mids of the warm and dubby tune “schröder, es ist ratsam!”.
And if you ask yourselve: What in hell has all this got to do with the peanuts? Well, we here at temp~ don’t know, either. Maybe some things just have to be filed under artistic insanity and left unquestioned.
