Since launching its first remix contest in 2004 with Sarah Mclachlan, Beatport has partnered with world renowned artists and labels such as Moby, Audion, Depeche Mode, Vandit, emFire and Strictly Rhythm. For July’s remix contest Beatport is proud to team up with the legendary label Cocoon, and offer a different twist on the contest. “Cocoon’s catalog is impressive and while we were trying to agree on which track we should offer, we realized we couldn’t really decide internally in a small group,” says Noura Labbani, Beaport’s VP of artist and label relations, “so we would like to let the Beatportal community decide.”

In the running are Dinky’s ‘Acid In My Fridge’, Extrawelt’s ‘Titelheld’ and Guy Gerber’s ‘Timing’. “On the occasion of our 10 Years Anniversary,” states Cocoon, “we have chosen those tracks from the last ten years, which have been inquired most for a remix but have never been remixed so far, due to various reasons. Now, we are really curious about the outcome we get from all the producers out there!”
