sonstiges	TROY ROBERTS Looking at him you wouldn't even think he was old enough to get into a club, let alone command the attention of a packed dance floor. But don't let his baby face fool you. Troy Roberts is a veteran behind the decks. From his humble beginnings at a local club in Portland, Oregon to the culmination of his career at London's world-renown Bedrock, Troy has been making his mark on the dance music scene for almost a decade. Troy had his first experience behind the decks as the resident of a small Portland club The Lotus. There, in its intimate atmosphere, he developed the foundations of what would become his trademark progressive sound. After a year, Troy knew it was time to take his music beyond his small hometown club. He moved to Seattle, where for three years he championed his brand of music. In a city that was dominated by funky house and breaks, Troy became known as "the one who played progressive." In Seattle, Troy was pressured to change his style to something more popular in that area, but he refused. Even when gigs were scarce, he would not abandon his unique sound. He continued to strive forward, strongly believing in only playing the music he loved; that is something he would never compromise. Three years later his talents were noticed by Spundae Productions, the leaders of the West Coast dance scene, and in 1999 Troy moved to San Francisco to become their newest resident. In San Francisco he finally found an audience for his deep, driving progressive sound and became a familiar face behind the decks, playing alongside world-renown DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, and Dave Seaman. Troy continues to exert his influence on the dance music scene with other residencies at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, Avantgarde in Mexico City, and Club Sugar and Insomnia in Los Angeles. Troy is also a resident DJ on the Saturday Night KROQ Radio Afterhours Show with Jason Bentley, the #1 listened to station in Los Angeles. You can also tune in Troy Roberts worldwide every Thursday, as he hosts a weekly internet show on Proton Radio. Regarded as one of America's best up and coming DJs out of the west coast, Troy made his UK debut with a guest mix on John Digweed's Kiss FM radio show, followed by DJ sets at two of London's legendary nights, Bedrock's 3rd Anniversary Party and Prologue at The Cross. With two nationally released CDs, "Global Phases" (1996) and "A New Beginning" (1999), and various club residencies, Troy continues to evolve as an artist. He has begun production on a new forthcoming single and of course continues to take his sound worldwide!
