Info Kev Quadrant: The oldest member of Quadrant – and it shows! From the early eighties when Kev started djing in the U.K. – up to the present day the selection of music he plays covers it all and often surprises. A long time feature of the prague house music scene,Kev has played at Radost,Roxy,Mecca,Punto Azul,Niaf,in fact pretty much all of the house clubs here in the Czech Rep and has played alongside such luminaries as Layo and Bushwaka,DiY,The Inland Knights,Clive Henry,Pepe Bradock,Loutka and Trava to name a few. As well as playing in clubs Kev has been instrumental in organising and producing countless open air free parties in The Czech Rep,Italy,France and the UK as part of Quadrant Soundysystem where more often than not they are the only system to be found playing house music in a scene predominantly representing techno,drum and bass and dub. Whilst travelling around Europe, Quadrant have worked with freetekno legends Spital Tribe, Desert Storm ,Technical Support, Hekate and Smokescreen producing parties in fields,warehouses,factories and boats. A fan of the deeper side of the current tech house/deep house vibe, Kev usually finds a way to slip in the odd 70’s disco tune into proceedings. A fan of all kinds of music from Pink Floyd and The Pixies to Stevie Wonder, Diy and Mood II Swing, it shows in a preference to play in a more eclectic backroom/chillout atmosphere than a full on – having it dancefloor. Swing, soul, disco, deephouse and breakbeats all find their way into the mix. Deep, soulful, clubby and vocal tunes are a personal favourite. DJ History – First dj'ed in 1983, then on and off throughout the 1990’s playing less and concentrating on sound engineering/promoting for Quadrant both in Nottingham and in Prague.Resumed playing house/chill out since 1999. Claim to Fame - Played on the main stage after Layo and Bushwaka at Creamfields Czech 2002. Likes – Soul, Groove, Bass and playing outdoors, beer and smiling faces, parties and getting twisted. Dislikes – Moody DJ’s, Trance, Slivovice |
