bitte gerne ;-)

für mich isses auch massivst zeitaufwändig nur ich verfolge damit auch ziele welche vielleicht einigen (auch den gästen des boards) als eyeopener dienen falls nicht schon passiert.

zusätzlich sei noch gesagt das der erste gedanke es als pics zu posten der eh schon mehrmals genannte war + zusätzlich müsse in der jetzigen form alle links einzelnd angeklickt werden und sowas ärgert mich pers. sehr auf div seiten und für mich pers ist da irrelevant welcher content weil > mehr hackn für den user. aber was solls. ich hab mein statement eh schon abgegeben ...

The president of the UN General Assembly has condemned Israel's killings of Palestinians in its Gaza offensive as "genocide".
Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann also told Al Jazeera he had never believed that the UN Security Council would be able to stop the violence in Gaza and that Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, had practically told the UN to "mind their own business" by continuing the offensive.
"The number of victims in Gaza is increasing by the day... The situation is untenable. It's genocide," d'Escoto said at the UN in New York.
About 970 Palestinians have been killed and 4,300 injured since Israel began its Gaza offensive on December 27, which it says is to stop Palestinian fighters attacking Israel with rockets.

(IsraelNN.com) Initial reports say that Hamas in Gaza has agreed to Egypt's ceasefire plan. This would involve a cessation of hostilities as a first step. Later, crossings between Gaza and Egypt would reopen but they would be monitored by Fatah personnel and not Hamas's people. Hamas is expected to announce the main points of the agreement at a news conference later Wednesday evening.
Will Hamas's army remain intact?
Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni have insisted that any truce must be conditioned on guarantees that Hamas will not be able to smuggle more weapons into Gaza. However, no mention has been made of the arsenal that remains in the hands of the Hamas army and allied terrorist groups.
Gaza terrorists possessed roughly 3,000 rockets, and possibly more, before the current fighting, estimates Knesset Member Yuval Steinitz (Likud), a former chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
Bar-Ilan University's Dr. Shlomo Shapiro said that although he does not know how many rockets Hamas possesses, it is probable that the number is more than the official estimate. He pointed out that Israeli officials underestimated Hizbullah's strength before the Second Lebanon War two years ago.
Accepting IDF estimates that 50 percent of the rocket arsenal has been eliminated and that another 600 rockets have been fired on Israel. Hamas retains at least several hundred rockets, most of them short-range, that still can wreak havoc on southern Israel.
Israeli intelligence officials estimated that Hamas amassed a 15,000-strong and well-trained army before Israel launched its Cast Lead counterterrorist campaign in Gaza. Many of the Hamas fighters trained in Lebanon and Iran under Hizbullah and Iranian Revolutionary Guards officers.

Army Defuses Booby-Trapped Rockets Aimed at Israel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)
A Lebanese Army patrol on Wednesday defused three booby-trapped rockets that were set for launching from the southern region towards Israel, an Army communiqué said.
The communiqué said the three rockets were booby-trapped with TNT and set for launching "in an hour."

An Army sapper defused the rockets that would be destroyed in place, the communiqué added.

The rockets were found by Lebanese troops and U.N. peacekeepers in the same area from which three rockets were fired at northern Israel earlier in the day.

Booby trapping the rockets apparently aims at targeting the side that would try to defuse them. It was the first attempt of its kind in south Lebanon since the 2006 war between Hizbullah and Israel.

Syrian President Bashar Assad called on Israel to cease its military operation in Gaza immediately, while simultaneously demanding that Hamas cease its fire towards Israel.

In an interview with the BBC network Assad warned that the fighting in Gaza could lead to the exacerbation of Islamic extremism in the Middle East.

"The effects of the war are more dangerous than the war itself," he said during Wednesday's interview. "It's planting the seeds for extremism and terror in the entire region."

Muhammad Nazal, a member of Hamas' political bureau, told al-Jazeera, "We have not accepted the Egyptian ceasefire initiative, but we have not rejected it either. We presented our reservations about the proposal and if they are not taken into account â€" we cannot accept it."

Nazal said that in his opinion "the talk of progress only exists in the media," and stressed that "Hamas is unwilling to agree on a permanent ceasefire because the significance of this would be to halt the resistance." (Roee Nahmias)

ANALYSIS / Egypt's Gaza truce plan is mostly bad for Hamas

After 19 days of fighting and more than 1,000 Palestinian fatalities, the first significant signs that Hamas is breaking could be seen Wednesday night. Hamas representatives to talks with Egypt announced an agreement in principle on Wednesday to the Egyptian cease-fire proposal. They also demanded several clarifications, primarily from Israel.

The war in Gaza isn't over yet. The final days of the Second Lebanon War show that it's best to be wary of agreements that come too early. But the way things looked on Wednesday, Hamas seems to be willing to accept the Egyptian initiative, which is almost a kind of surrender agreement for it.

The Egyptian proposal is mostly bad for Hamas. It doesn't let the organization bring the Palestinian public any political achievement that would justify the blood that has been spilled, and even forces on it the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza, in the form of its renewed presence at the Rafah crossing (as a condition for its reopening).

Once the cease-fire is reached, the IDF will withdraw from the positions it captured in Gaza, and only then will the two sides begin to discuss the opening of border crossings and removal of the blockade, which was the reason Hamas gave for waging war. The most that Cairo is offering is a timetable for the opening of the crossing points, and even that depends on negotiations due to begin after the cease-fire is reached, and it's tough to know how or when they will end.
