Vor 6 Jahren als Insidertreffen von DJ´s aus England, Holland und Belgien ins Leben gerufen, hat sich Snowbombing zu einem immer größer werdenen internationalen Event gewandelt, das seinen familiären Flair behalten hat und für die Musikgemeinde jährlich fettere Line-Ups bereit hält!

Boarden, Schi fahren, Skidoo oder Paragliden und zwischendurch die Frühlingssonne bei einem Trankerl auf der Hütte genießen – stets begleitet von exquisiter Musik für Euch von hochkarätigen DJ´s aller Musikrichtungen von Alternative über Drum and Base, Hip Hop und Trance bis House auf die Plattenteller gebracht!

Bereits zum zweiten Mal findet das Snowbombing-Festival dieses Jahr in Mayrhofen statt, das sich in den letzten Jahren zu einem wahren Paradies für Snowboarder und Freestyle-Skifahrer entwickelt hat. So machen 159 Pistenkilometer, 49 Liftstationen, die steilste präparierte Piste Österreichs machen Mayerhofen zum Top-Treff für alle Wintersport-Begeisterten.

Mit dem Board unter den Füßen zu fetten Beats sliden und auf der Piste rocken! Ein Gefühl, dass man so nirgends sonst erleben kann! Doch man sollte seine Kräfte sparen: Denn spätestens wenn die Nacht anbricht trifft sich Londons Techno- House- und Elektroszene in den Clubs und Bars und verwandelt Mayerhofen in ein wahres Mekka der elektronischen Musik! Live Performances mit einer Mischung aus DJing, Comedy, BreakDance und Atmoshow sind neben dem überzeugenden Line Up Dinge, die man nur beim Snowbombing Festival erlebt!

LINE UP 2006

Audio Bullys

Audio Bullys vermischen gekonnt House, Garage, Beats, Basslines, Music and Words, um einen Sound entstehen zu lassen, der einfach nur auf Londoner Boden gedeihen kann. Sie verfügen über ein instinktives Verständnis für die Dynamik des Pop-Songwritings: Killer Hooks, Riffs, Breakdowns und Melodie, die ihre Tracks beständig aus dem DJ-Underground in die Stratospheren der Radiopräsenz und Charts katapultiert haben. Audio Bullys werden die Fahnen hissen für das Chibuku Shake Shake am Snowbombing 2006.


Radio Soulwax Presents Niteversions & 2manydjs

Nite Versions ist ein Album, das zur Gänze aus Erweiterungen und Neuinterpretationen von Tracks, die zum größten Teil dem sensationellen Soulwax-Album 'Any Minute Now' entnommen wurden – verdreht und verdrillt um perfekt auf der Tanzfläche zu gooven und als Homage an das „Extended 12" Format“. Nite Versions live präsentiert wird die volle Power des Albums zum Snowbombing bringen! 2manydj's, der DJ von Soulwax, hat einen neuen Sound eine neue Party-Ästhetik in die Club- und Compilationlandschaft. James Zabiela

James Zabiela ist ein DJ, der die Regeln seines Spiels beherrscht. Allein im letzten Jahr hatte er Gigs in Tokio, Sydney, LA, Rumänien, Litauen, Südamerika und UK. Ebenso, wie er die Welt mit einem Rucksack voll CD´s, einem EFX1000 und einem Sampler bereist um jede arglose DJ-Bude gänzlich zu entfesseln, hilft James Pioneer neue Produkte zu entwickeln & testet neue Prototypen – der perfekte Job also für einen Sci-Fi Fanatiker. Er wird das “Backtobasics” Line-Up anführen.


Dave Clarke

Dave Clarke genießt absolut zu Recht den Ruf als einer der besten Techno und Elektro DJ´s der Welt. In unserem zweiten Snowbombing-Jahr in Mayerhofen wird er sich die Ehre geben und das Snowbombing 2006 wird mit Sicherheit die einzige Chance für euch sein, den angesehenen Mr. Clarke in einer Tiroler Holz-Scheune spielen zu sehen!


Roni Size

Roni Size ist einer der Gründungsväter des Drum & Bass und des wegweisenden Full Cycle and Dope Dragon Labels. 1997 eroberten Roni und seine Reprazent Crew mit ihrer New Forms die Welt im Sturm, gewannen den Mercury Music Preis und hoben ihren Status auf einen internationalen Level. Die Zukunft wird ebenso produktiv sein, wenn Roni Size als DJ zurückkehren wird und seine Fähigkeiten auf seiner neuen LP Return To V präsentieren wird. 2006 wird der erste Gig beim Snowbombing sein.


Darren Emerson

Als Bestandteil von Underworld spielte Darren Emerson eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Produktion von Tracks wie Cowgirl, Born Slippy und Rez. Seit seinem Ausstieg im Jahr 2000, wurde sein Underwater Records Label zum Label des Jahres gewählt, bespielte er zwei Jahre Ibiza als Bestandteil der umjubelten Pacha's Subliminal V Underwater Nights, rockte die Crowd im The End (bereits in seinem vierten Jahr) und hat Tracks unter anderem für Fatboy Slim, Puff Daddy, Gus Gus und The Prodigy remixt.


The Cuban Brothers

Die Cuban Brothers sind einfach einzigartig. Geboren in Havanas Lenden der 70er, genährt von sexy Soul-Tunes und inspiriert von der kubanischen Geschichte und Mythologie, peitscht ihr frischer Zugang zum Live Entertainment jeden Gig in Richtung Ekstase und Wahnsinn. Ihre legendäre Performance kombiniert Musik mit zügelloser Comedy und sensationellem Tanz. Die Energie bei ihren Shows ist ganz einfach unglaublich!


Annie Mac

Annie Mac besaß ihre ersten Turntables im Alter von 19 Jahren und nahm sie sogleich mit nach England, wo sie eine Karriere beim Radio anstrebte… ihr Weg führte sie von House Parties in Indie Discos, zum Resident DJ des The Underworld bis hin zu einer eigenen Show bei BBC Radio 1. Annie spielt Club Gigs in der Manier von Shine, Cross Central, Boutique, Cargo, Fabric und ist Resident im Newcastle's Wax:On. Sie wird dabei sein, wenn Wax:On beim Snowbombing 2006 zur ersten alpinen Party lädt!


Touche

Touché ist der Londoner DJ und Producer Theo Keating - im Moment Resident in Brighton's Boutique Night. Neben seinem eigenen Label (Body Clap) ist er außerdem für Southern Friend tätig, während er als DJ die ganze Welt bereist. Er wird gemeinsam mit Annie Mac die Crowd bei der Wax:On Party anheizen!


Meat Katie

Mark Pember aka Meat Katie war lange Zeit vor allem als ein fixer Bestandteil der Breakbeat-Szene bekannt, sowohl als DJ als auch als Producer. In den letzten Jahren jedoch hat sein einmaliger Stil von Tech-Funk dermaßen eingeschlagen, dass ihn sowohl House als auch Break DJ´s ihn als einen der konsistentesten Spieler da draussen bezeichnen. Seine besondere Art, sich bestehenden Genregrenzen entgegen zu setzen reflektiert sich auch in seinen DJ-Sets, die unter anderem als Support der Chemical Brothers, Asian Dub Foundation und Death In Vegas, um nur einige zu nennen.


Norman Jay

Er ist einer der besten und höchst respektiertesten DJ´s dieser Welt, dessen Talent und jahrelange professionelle Hingabe ihm zu Recht die Aufmerksamkeit der höchsten Authoritäten des Landes beschert hat. 2002 war Norman offiziell auf der „Queen's Diamond Jubilee Birthday Honours List“ vertreten mit der Empfehlung, ihn zu einem „Member of the Order of the British Empire“ zu ernennen, auszuzeichnen für seine Verdienste um das "DJing and services to music".


Kid Carpet

Kid Carpet macht “Kiddy Disco Punk” und “Shit-Hop Music” mit Plastikinstrumenten, Spielzeug und Sampler.

Justin Robertson

Eine veritable Legende der britischen Tanzmusik! Justin schreibt, remixt und spielt alles von House über Techno bis hin zu Nick Drake inspirierter Akustik. Sein 'Push and Shove' – ein Gospel-ähnlicher Love Song – ist eines der Highlights des Fatboy Slim - Albums 'Palookaville'.


Pendulum

Gegründet im Jahre 2002 von drei Musikern West Australiens mit ähnlichen Visionen und musikalischem Background, haben Pendulum seither die Welt des Drum&Bass ordentlich auf den Kopf gestellt. Ihre Debüt-Single Breakbeat Kaos wurde nicht nur Nr. 1 der UK Dance Charts stürmte auch die UK Top 40 und wurde von John Peel, Mary Anne Hobbs and Zane Lowe supported. 2006 werden sie beim Snowbombing die Tanzböden zum Wackeln bringen.


Luke Vibert

After playing in various bands within the 'Cornwall Skool' (with contemporaries including Aphex Twin), Luke Vibert signed to the Rising High label and Wagon Christ was born. Since then, he's recorded and released under many guises and has pumped out a host of remixes for, amongst others, NIN, Lamb and Stereolab. Luke's worked with different labels too, like Mo'Wax, Rephlex, Ninja Tune and Virgin. At Snowbombing 2006 he'll be back in the Warp Records stable for an unforgettable night of bleeps and beats.


Jackson & His Computer Band

Charismatic Jackson rose to prominence in 2003 when his fourth single Utopia, tweaked all manner of DJs and taste makers with its celestial apres-rave shimmer. New York's Index magazine describes his music as "a sonic pate bordering on Dada... a future gone wrong". You could say Jackson slips the pain into champagne. With Luke Vibert, N>E>D and flat-e, Jackson & His Computer band make up the line up for the Warp Records party at Snowbombing 2006.


N>E>D

As one of the official ‘Warp Records DJs’, N>E>D, has been performing laptop DJ sets around the world for the past 6 years. Working closely with the Warp label to co ordinate much of their UK and European live shows and tours, Ned has played many of Warp showcase audio-visual mega raves. Working with a multitude of different artists, Ned Beckett is a DJ, organiser, producer, curator and artist in his own right.

Finger Lickin' Records

Finger Lickin' was set up in 1998 and since then has firmly established itself as one of the leading independent leftfield dance labels in the world. They're bringing their particularly fine party to Snowbombing 2006 with Soul Of Man, A.Skillz and Krafty Kuts providing the beats.


Chibuku Shake Shake


Chibuku Shake Shake has grown into one of the most successful underground nights in the UK and will be representing at Snowbombing 2006, with Audio Bullys heading up the party. It's been a crazy few years for the night which has helped foster incredible memories, sourcing some of the world's best DJs and live talent along with a crack brace of residents.

Bugged Out!


Bugged Out! is one of the UK's most enduring and influential underground club nights. After starting out in Manchester the club is now based in London where their all night parties are the talk of the town. Bugged Out is over ten years old (which in club years means they can grow a nice moustache) and has been a springboard for talent from the electronic leftfield. Internationally reknowned acts like Daft Punk, the Chemical Brothers, Mylo, Scissor Sisters, The Glimmers, Vitalic and Erol Alkan all made early appearances at the club. Having been a part of Snowbombing from the very start we are thrilled that Bugged Out! are throwing parties with us again in 2006, especially now we've found out they're bringing 2manydjs and Radio Soulwax with them!


Warp Records


Warp Records will be holed up in a secret underground venue at Snowbombing 2006, bringing you the delights of the cream of their almighty roster. Plaid, Jackson & His Computer Band, Luke Vibert and DJ N>E>D will be providing the aural stimulus, while Flat-e perform some crazy tricks with the visuals. It'll be an ASTONISHING night.


Back To Basics


14 years ago the first ever backtobasics was held at The Music Factory, Leeds - originally intended to be a small club where mates could go and let their hair down as a kickback to the jaded acid house scene. It rapidly became a hugely popular night with massive amounts of people wanting to come in having heard its reputation as the best (and wildest) night out for miles around. Now Dave Beer and chums are running one of the UKs best House clubs, constantly turning away droves every Saturday night. backtobasics will be bringing their reknowned all night party antics to Snowbombing with the legendary Dave Beer and very special guest James Zabiela spinning the tunes.

Death Disco

Looking for hot beats and good times, baby? Some seriously glitchy, glitzy, dark, delicious, dirty, deathly disco? How about the best mixed-up orgy of itchy, throbbing bass, anarchic electronic action, rock, roll and trans-Euro electro excess in the universe? Wilkommen to Death Disco, darlings… Coming to Snowbombing 2006 in all its glorious filth.

Tayo's Tracksuit Party
The aim of Tayo’s tracksuit party is to throw a shindig with old school style for old friends, and the new ones that they bring along the way. The star of the show is the most underrated fashion item. The tracksuit. For Snowbombing 2006 Tayo will be joined by Rooty buddies Felix (Basemant Jaxx) and Frank Tope.

The Mountains

There’s something special about hosting parties up in the mountains that we’ve never been able to put our finger on…all we know is it works. It might be because the air is thinner, so the alcohol has a more hedonistic effect. Or that the next day after a big night, as soon as the alpine air circulates through your lungs; you’re feeling like an Olympic champion again


The Music

We’re not trendy muso types, but we’ve had 7 years in creating the best in après ski parties, styles will range from anything from minimal bleeps to drum n bass, dirty electronica to soulful house, acoustic sing along to juicy breakbeat and cabaret to punk rock…we bring over artists and DJs who share our love of the snow (which is why you’ll be shredding it up on the slopes with them during the day). 2005 welcomed the likes of Mylo, Aphex Twin, Norman Jay, Justin Robertson, Krafty Kuts, Cuban Brothers and Dave Clarke. Europe’s biggest nightclubs bring their faithful followers for the week and recreate their vibe in Alpine venues. What you’ll always be guaranteed is a wealth of variety each night from headline DJ’s to underground artists raising the roof off tiny bars to a crowd of people who have somehow found themselves in there.

The People

Snowbombing welcomes everyone – party animals, skiers, boarders, couples and groups of friends. We do believe that no event can provide the family atmosphere that Snowbombing has become famous for. Thousands of up for it party people based on one luxurious resorts for one week can only be a brilliant week. Its not just for skier or boarders. Over half the people that come Snowbombing have never snowboarded or skied. Many go do try and many are happy just sitting in the mountain top bars having a nice drink and taking in the atmosphere. The atmosphere lasts all week in the hotels, on the slopes, in the bars, the clubs and the restaurants. It’s the people and the event that make Snowbombing the best week of the winter

Other Entertainment

Music is only half of the Snowbombing entertainment, whatever is going on, be assured that the whole week is geared towards FUN.. There’s fun to be had on the slopes all day – such as fancy dress days, splash pipes, paragliding, snow tubing and skidoo rides. While in the evening pub games, karaoke, comedy are the norm if you fancy something different. Parties in pyramids at the top of the mountain, all night parties in mountain barns, paint balling, mystical schnapps evenings are just some of the entertainment available at Snowbombing. Mainly though, the entertainment comes from you yourself!
