Mark Knight:

(IMG:http://www.offitsface.com/images/biographies/mark_knight.jpg)

Mark's introduction to the scene started very much at the deep end back in 1995 promoting a one off party "The Love Ball" at the seminal 'Arches' in London where he played alongside the legendary "Masters at Work". This established links with "Zoo Entertainments" and other players in the London scene. Mark had firmly put one foot on the ladder. Experience was gained over the next few years playing at clubs in and around London such as "the Satellite"(Vauxhall)," Garage city "(Bar Rumba), Peach (Leisure Lounge) etc...

Having returned to the world of promotion to bolster his dj career, a series of successful parties brought Mark to the attention of larger clubs and Kiss100 fm. In 1999 Mark was approached by Kiss 100 to become resident at their latest venture "Independence", a weekly funky house night to be held at the Hanover Grand. This tie with Kiss resulted in numerous radio mixes, and guest appearances on shows with Bobby & Steve and Brandon Block.

Independence was going from strength to strength attracting some of the world's largest names (Roger Sanchez, Alistair Whitehead, Joey Negro) all playing alongside Mark raising his profile even higher. It was at this stage that Mark felt that he had the experience and confidence to enter into the world of production.

Dave Lee (Joey Negro) recommended that Mark work with his then engineer Kevin (k-boy) Brooks to help fulfil his musical ideas. Fusing their studio experience together with club knowledge a successful partnership was formed and "K&M" were born.

Their first project was "This is Why" a classic garage cut released on Dave Lee's "Z" Records. Following a series of successful and highly respected productions under the guises of "K&M" and "Mindprint" Polydor asked the guys do a mix of Kylie Minogue's track "Cant get you out of my head".

This went straight in to the charts at number one selling over 1.1 million copies and has lead to numerous major label remixes.

Alongside the K&M/Mindprint projects, Mark in his own right is producing and remixing tracks for various top labels including Fluential, Mn2S & Ultra Vinyl. He has worked with legends vocalists Barbara Tucker on a track for her new album and Rozalla on a production of his own. His tracks cover the whole spectrum of house music from the progressively edged "You Leave Me Better" (Portent Records) to the disco flavoured “Get Up” on Kidology records to the chunky “Filthy House EP” (Fluential).

Mark’s latest venture has been into the world of record labels – starting Toolroom Productions with his brother Stuart and partner Kevin. They are on schedule to have the first release in June 2003 from London producers Audio Drive to be closely followed by an exclusive new track from Jocelyn Brown featuring remixes from both Mark & Kevin respectively.
