Martin is part of a tribe for whom music is far more than just a pleasure for the ear. For him, it is life - a symbol of harmony between beings - and clay, a raw material that lends itself to every kind of experiment.

Martin learnt to sing as a young boy, performing in cathedrals in short trousers. In the racks at your local record shop, you may find a CD featuring Martin singing solo with a choir. This childhood experience left him with a gift for working with vocalists from every background, arranging his own songs and even joining in their performance (Destiny).

He turned away from the classical repertoire as a teenager and plunged into a combination of rap and chart culture, collecting singles by Prince, NTM, Sade and Inner City by the dozen and soon starting to wonder how he could join the party. The joint advent of the Christmas season and the DJ period gave him part of the answer. Martin asked his parents for a set of decks (along with all the equipment that goes with them) and became a familiar figure at local parties, weddings and birthdays. In 1992, he fell under the spell of electronic music and found work as a sales assistant in his favourite record shop (Champs Disques). His time there broadened the range of his musical affinities and taught him to empathise, an essential quality for a skilled DJ.

At the age of 18, this work experience and the support of his friend Claude Monnet brought Martin his first residency in the most famous club in Paris, Le Palace. He then went on to the Bains Douches where he appeared on the bill with top DJs (Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, Mousse T, etc.). Refining his style, he made his great breakthrough on the decks and in a number of artistic initiatives at Pure nights at the Enfer, then at the Queen.

At last, Martin began to work as a producer, developing his skills while continuing to perform in clubs. After a few efforts that met with varying success, he caught the ear of the public with the sax riffs on "Heart of Africa" and "Come with me". Now his ambitions were revealed : he wanted to be remembered for more than a few looped samples and fully intended to produce energetic non-electronic music, while bearing in mind the assets of dance music genres : rhythm and efficacy. Spotted by Bob Sinclar, he joined the "Africanism" team and signed the project's single "Edony" which reached the top of the international club charts (N°1 in France, Italy and Greece).

Today, Martin works internationally, but still remembers the basics that enabled his progress : respect for the public and originality and diversity in his programming and production. He has many influences, among them soul, world music, disco, hip-hop and French middle-of-the-road. His curiosity leads him to take an interest in anything he may learn from or that will provide him with new approaches. He likes to spend time exchanging opinions, discussing discoveries and sharing his passion for good wine and fine food with producer friends Claude, Gregory, Bob Sinclar, Julien Jabre and Next Evidence. He also avoids restricting his activities to strictly artistic circles : he is very attached to his family and school friends (he has a C baccalaureate and a marketing diploma) and devotes time to other loves too : Woody Allen, Claude Lelouch and Mike Myers films, economics and trainers (he has 57 pairs).

At 25, he has made his first album "Sur la Terre" (On Earth). The record is a culmination, but he hopes it will be a beginning too, a door opening on various pleasures and projects. In any case, his feet seem to be firmly on the ground, already quite an achievement
