b{MUMDANCE}b is an umbrella term used to describe the various activities of the enigmatic Jack Adams. After spending two years working for Vice Magazine putting on all their events, Jack decided to fly the nest and do his own thing: DJing, making music and putting on parties. Barely three months into making music, Jack caught the attention of Diplo by bootlegging his remix of the Black Lips' "Veni Vidi Vicii" and giving it an unusual baile - grime glaze by adding beats, bleeps and bars by East London grime MC Jammer. This unofficial bootleg received national radio play from Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 and Sinden on Kiss FM, as well as being a huge hit on the club and blog circuit. Diplo liked the remix so much he commissioned Jack to remix major label artists Santogold (the product of which Tim Westwood latched onto straight away and played on his Radio 1 show) and new wave tropical pioneer El Guincho (forthcoming on Mad Decent / Young Turks). The Radioclit boys are also big fans of Jack's sound. They asked him to remix their latest single "Secousse" (forthcoming on Mental Groove). Ninja Tune are yet another body who got very excited after first hearing Jack's music. When they eventually cooled down, they asked him to remix one of their flagship acts Pop Levi as well as put together a one-hour mix for their legendary Solid Steel Radio series. Five remixes down the line, Jack is currently in the studio working on his first EP of original material, due out in Autumn. MUMDANCE DJ sets comprise of many different genres of bass driven music re-contextualised and played in quick succession. He is known for live edits, loops and effects, as well as spanning almost every electronic genre in a set. Expect garage, bassline, grime, electro, fidget, niche, dubstep, funky, minimal, techno, house and jungle all effortlessly mixed together like a delicious musical smoothie. The success of this formula is reflected in the wide range of events that Jack has been booked to play, ranging from rowdy East End grime raves, to chic fashion and media events. Even though he no longer works at Vice Magazine, Jack is still a firm favourite at their parties all around Europe. He recently toured the UK on the 10 date "Unitaur" event as DJ support for Crystal Castles, The Teenagers and These New Puritans.
