Falko Niestolik Born in 1978 in Berlin, the german wonderkid Falko Niestolik started his music carreer in small hometown clubs. His, somehow, mentor was Dedl Maak of the Funkaholics who was running the hippest record store at that time and region, Starpoint Records, where for example Tom Novy used to buy his stuff. It was also him, Dedl Maak, who recognized Falkos.. talent and ambitions, did therefore tell him to deliver a mixed tape every week. That..s what Falko really did for 9 months, until he got his first gigs in clubs in Hamburg and Berlin and likewise entered the house scene. His first residence was in Club Kontor together with Markus Gardeweg and the Funkaholics. Soon more gigs followed in Clubs like La Cage and Cafe Moskau and Mauer Club (both Berlin). In 1998 he experienced his first time rocking at the famous Love Parade in front of hundreds of thousands in Berlin and continued this experience in ..99 and 2000! His second ..mega-event.. took place in the year 2000, the ..Radio Energy Hamburg Sylvester Party.., where Falko, together with the Funkaholics, Kernkraft and many more, entertained 20.000 excited party-guests. So it happened in 2001 that he left Europe for a job in the Intercontinental Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Soon he was seen behind the turntables in several of the most wanted clubs of that time and region: Green Room, Place and Dub Town e.g. On one of his numerous travels he got to know Mike 303 (Superfunk) and later ..ed to produce together with him and soon they released on several labels. Finally though he carried on with one of his mates as a teenager, Ben Delay (Egoiste Records). After one year of collecting inspiration and knowledge, he decided to move home again but landed in Austria where he worked as head of the reception of "Schloss Fuschl". Of course he immediately proofed his talent as a Dj and was from 2003 on presenting a radioshow on ..Welle 1 Radio.. called ..House Arrest... There he got to know the ..Who is Who.. of House music, as he had outrageous guests like David Guetta, Tiesto, Tocadisco, Dataneo and a lot more, who gave him the last essential hints for improving his style. A tragedy within Falkos.. family in 2005 had a strong influence on his developpement as Dj and producer. He started to work on an album to somehow deal with the pain he suffered from. It lasted for two years until Falko finished his first longplay release that will be released in Summer 2007: Niestolik & Richter – Simply Life! By now the brand 'Falko Niestolik' stands for a successfull house artist, DJ and good looking womanizer that finds his peers in the international house scene: Cristiano Spiller, Mousse T., Markus Gardeweg, Superfunk, Tom Novy, Voodoo, Paul van Dyk. Breathtaking instrumental and vocal elements account for his unique sound, pushing up the vibes on any dancefloor: Twisted and sexy - the real House Music. Her love for music evolved fast into a strong desire to start spinning. Lori#s first ´little´ breakthrough was her quirky electronic house and tech sound that she developed between ´95 and ´98, that quickly expanded her territory throughout the West Coast of America and across Canada. At the end of that period in ´98 she decided to head off to Europe and finally landed in London where she soon held two residencies and additionally made appearances at club 333 Old Street. After only six months, Luxury U.K. promotions organized an offer for a weekly residency in Luxembourg´s Evolution that she accepted and therefore had the opportunity to play alongside some of the ´most wanted´ in the scene like Timo Maas, Gayle San and Ritchie Hawtin. From here on, Miss Ward was continously taking part in the ´ever-changing´ music scene in Europe and kept on evolving her sound into a sophisticated mix of Techno and Electro. While touring through Europe she found herself again on stage with great Djs like Joachim Garraud, Jeff Mills, Boy George, Tom Novy, Valantino Kanzyani and Adam Beyer. Additionally, the Hi-Fi Princess stood behind the decks in some of the most wanted clubs and festivals in the world! A few examples are The Tunnel in New York City, Liquid Club in Madrid, Koneisto Festival in Finland, Mazzo in Amsterdam, the Sona in Montreal, Turbo in Toronto, 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, Klub Kuaille in Tokyo and Cittadella in the Czech Republic and her residency Suncity in Graz (Austria). Loris first release was on Shimmy Recordings in 1999, her track ´Refused Entry´ came out within the ´Collective Thoughts EP´, that soon gained great reputation by some of the top Dj´s of the scene. After having lived in New York City for four successful years (´98 till ´02), she made the decision to move back to Europe where she found a new home in Vienna, Austria. Her interests fixed in the studio, while still having the stuffed Dj-schedule, what meant hard work and patience. In 2004 she took the next step of her carreer and released her first album under the alias Lori J. Ward. ´Foreign Communication´ is a 13 track downtempo cd, available at www.ebl.cc and beatport records.It was re-signed again to Chill ball music. Soon after that she also signed to Highball Music, while one of her tracks entitled ´Disastermind´ (available on Join Us Records) emerged and was signed to the Love Parade Berlin 2004 Compilation and five other large european dance compilations. Finally another track of her album ´The New Xavier´ was nominated out of 11.000 entries into the top ten for the International Song Contest, and additionally received an honorable mention! Leaving behind this wave of success, Lori J. Ward decided to try something new and fresh, and started to sing as well. The multitalented Lori therefore founded a new project together with Tobias Frick in 2005. The live act is called ´Phonix´ and includes her fascinating voice! Her vocal career was somehow rushing into her life. On her ´Phonix´ album ´House of Jive´ her voice is part of electro-breaks-down tempo and rockish. And as the new vocalist for Greeks successfull House-export Kevin Sunray, she released one of the top hits on the dance charts in 2006 that held the number one sales position on decks.de for three weeks: Kevin Sunray & Agent Greg feat. Lori J. Ward, ´Breathe Easy´. Lori J. Ward and Tobias Frick will have their first release on Unlove music. Their track 'Design Me' will be released in July 2007 with remixes from The Whiteliners, Kevin Sunray, Falko Nestolik and Eddie F.. ich hoffe ihr kommt alle brav zum neuen Mittwochs-Stelldichein... zu erwarten sind: beste Bookings, genialste Atmosphäre und natürlich: die feschesten Residents, die auch auflegen können (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) und das ganze zentral ums Eck vom ehemaligen blackmarket

Sodala... sitz wieder in der Arbeit, nach 3h Schlaf und mehreren Drinks... War alles in allem ein schöner Abend, für Mittwochs-Premiere super besucht, nur nette Menschen, süsse Mädels und feinster Sound. Al´s Warmup war mir von der Selektion etwas zu prall, dafür ist es von da an groovig weitergegangen und auch Falko Niestolik ist ein angenehmer, bodenständiger Zeitgenosse, wie ich im Prewarming und zur Afterhour erfahren durfte. Ich hoffe auf zahlreiche Hörproben der neuen Releases, die´s ordentlich in sich haben... Ich hoffe es geht so munter weiter, wenn es nächsten Mittwoch heisst:

also das mal vorneweg;
Das Apropos ist ABSOLUT nicht mehr das was es früher mal war. Nix mehr zu spühren/sehen/hören von den afterworxs, passage, tussi-bussi gesellschafts proleten aller klassen, au contraire: das Apropos erscheint in einem ganz neuen licht: zuerst mal im wahrsten sinne des wortes: der barbereich in angenehmer indirekter roter beleuchtung, die bar erneuert und schön groß, und der zusätliche raum im hinteren bereich ist perfekt als tanzfläche genutzt. Auch die Anlage dürfte einiges hergeben zu können. zum zweiten die leute: angenehm, gemütlich, relaxed aber doch durchgeknallt, funky people mit denen man einerseits plaudern aber auch wild abtanzen kann..... Fazit: für eine premiere nicht schlecht besucht, Al Ease hätte wohl besser am ende auflegen sollen und seinen druckvollen stil ausleben können, am anfang etwas forsch. Lashair gewohnt locker und abwechslungsreich, auch die kurze vokal einlage von lori war keck wie immer. leider hab ich von falko nix mitbekommen. der perfekte klub um entweder nur kurz mal vorbeizuschauen (3€ ist ja auch nicht die welt) oder aber auch gscheit gas zu geben bis in der früh!!! THX guys und weiter so! |
