sonstiges Paul Langley (Jackstar / UK)

He started djing in 1985 playing Hip-Hop / Soul and mixed my way in to the UK DMC mixing championships in 1988. The he joined a Hip- Hop group also in 88 called "Sylk Kut" and played a mini tour with De La Soul & Sugar Bear. By the end of 88 he started buying House & Acid House.

Eventually he was into Techno by 92/93 after going to a "Lost" party in South London, this was a major turning point for me musically. He co-ran a weekly club night in Leicester Square, London in 94 called "Iconelastic" also in this year he had a weekly radioshow on Londons infamous "Chillin FM 102.9". He has also guested on various other radioshows inc netmix.com / dj-sets.com and Energia 97 in Sao Paulo.

In 1997 he hooked up with DJ Rush after he heard a mix tape of mine then Rush got myself to play Berlins Love Parade and various other gigs in Germany that year. 1997 was also the year he invested in buying my first pieces of studio equipment. By 1998 he had released his first couple of EPs on Rushs "KneDeep" & the other on "Off the wall" label.

Following on from these releases he also released on Justin Berkovis "Predicaments" label as a split EP with Rush and other labels such as High Octane, 4 X 4, Tonewrecker, Audio Textures, Dark House Music, Morpheus, Thrill, Psycho Shoxx, Epochworx... In the lasy few year he has worked with Jamie Bissmire (Space djz) & DJ Bam Bam on both there "50hz" & "Bass Heavy music" labels.

He started his JACKSTAR label in 2001 because he thought with the loss of UC and Jasper Stone records there was still a need for new edge to that "Chicago hard funk music". As a result he got in touch with DJ Bam Bam and they put together the first release. The label has gone from strength to strength with artists from DJ Rush, Sandy Warez, Switchblade, DJ MH, DJ Bam Bam, Jamie Bissmire, Paul Birken, Boris S., DJ Nehpets, DJ Urban and of course myself.

His djing has kepted him very busy over the years and taken him all over the world from Belgium, Germany, Slovenia, USA, Brazil, Austria, Sweden, France, Israel, Holland, Japan, Poland, UK and many more....

Joe Mama (Underbar / USA)

USA born and raised, Joe Musser aka DJ Joe Mama, has been rapidly moving up the ranks of the DJ ladder over the past 2 years.

Joe's roots in music can be traced back to the days when he was accomplished cellist by the age 9. Lacking the necessary guidance to push forward, Joe quickly adapted to the production side, and various support roles in the nightlife industry, starting with stints working for Prince @ Glam Slam, as well as Paisley Park. From there, his interest in a hybridization of electronic, rock, and pop pushed him into the world of today's dance music. Influences ranging from 80's New Wave, to Psychedelic 60's rock, to electronica can be deciphered in Joe's mix selections.

Joe's first experience came whilst vacationing on the infamous island of Ibiza. Lounging around one the islands villa parties, he was befriended by one of the hosts and invited to Pacha later that evening. When they arrived, he was graciously offered an opportunity to mix a few CD's on the terrace to the hundred or so glitterati swaying to the sun-drenched Balearic beats.

In 2002, Musser's first works as a Producer came to fruition, as his first release came about with partners Matt E Love and Dale Charles on the label they co-founded, Syncopate Recordings Ltd. With support from local and global artists like Carl Cox, Max Graham, and others, the experience provided the inspiration to dive back into the studio once again.

2003 saw major milestones reached as Joe continued his monthly Friday residency at Pravda 116, which was voted Boston's Best Nightclub by the local residents. Next up - Miami WMC 2003. Joe organized the "Lady Luck" St. Patrick's Day party featuring DJ Manolo, Paul Dailey, Joe Mama, Matt E Love, DJ Arsit, Michael Knyte, and Justin Johnson. Later that week it was off to play at the Hustler Party with co-conspirator Matt E Love, Nigel Richards, Justin Johnson & the Kingsize family. Arriving back in Boston saw Joe join the biggest weekly Clubnight in America, also known as 'Avaland' at Avalon/Axis in Boston. Combined with the power of the DJ team Groovefire, they created a night with a concentration on promoting the local house music scene.

'Homespun' gave up and coming DJ's an opportunity to spin alongside of the heavy hitters in the industry and garnering massive local attention as well. In an effort to provide a higher quality night, the concept was merged in the summer of 2003 with Jason Swamy, founder of the shame< (pronounced shame-less) night in NYC. Combining local talent with global talent, Astro&Glyde, Steven Lee (LEE-CABRERA), John Dill, and others have all rocked shame< Fridays at Pravda, and are constantly pushing the musical envelope of the party.

2005 saw Joe again in Miami with his highly successful Plastic Sex afterhours, which sold out in a record 25 minutes. Joe was also invited to join friend Steve Porter as part of his global Porterhouse events. Back in Boston, a new nightclub, Underbar was launched. Touting a world class sound system developed by Angel Moraes and TKO Sound, Joe was selected as a monthly resident alongside Angel.

Already into 2006, Joes collaboration with Matt Johnson as Matt & The Mammal, have been picked up by System Recordings for single distribution, and their compilation Dirty, Dirty House Vol. 2. Playing with the global A-list DJs is no strange territory for Joe, Roger Sanchez, Tom Stephan, Steve Porter, D:Fuse, Lee-Cabrera, Derrick Carter, Tom Novy & others have all shared the decks with Musser over the last few years. And so the saga continues... Musser's uncompromising blend of soulful, Balearic infused house has struck a nerve both with those who have been to Ibiza, and those who dream of music in paradise...
