Dieses Jahr ist der Musiksender MTV Austria gemeinsam mit spark7 erstmals mit einer eigenen Bühne für über 10.000 Besucher mit dabei und eines steht jetzt schon fest: diese Bühne wird die Insel drei Tage lang so richtig zum Beben bringen, denn hier werden die besten und beliebtesten nationalen House DJ´s sowie internationale Star Acts dem Publikum einheizen und mit fetten Beats und heißen Vocals für Bombenstimmung sorgen! House Sound vom Feinsten, von Ibiza Vocals bis progressive House, garantiert! Die spark7 Stage stellt ohne Zweifel ein besonderes Highlight des diesjährigen Donauinselfestes dar und zollt dem Clubbing- und Szene-Publikum Anerkennung und Aufmerksamkeit. Die Stars der House Szene werden auf die Bühne geholt und sorgen für ein abwechslungsreiches Programm. Am Freitag steigt das „Pleasure Open Air“. DJane Sarah Main (Pacha Ibiza) sorgt neben den Pleasure Residents Dj Olivarez, Flip Capella, Tom Snow, MC Spot und MC Mars für ein bombastisches Line-Up und für pures Ibiza-Sommer Feeling! Am Samstag steht Superstar Bob Sinclar auf dem Programm. Supported wird er von Tom Snow, den Bilingual Freakz aka Claudio Ricci & Met d´phunk, Dj Observer und MC Spot. Bob Sinclar wurde 1967 in Paris als Christophe Le Friant geboren und arbeitet als Produzent, Remixer und DJ. Außerdem ist er zusammen mit DJ Yellow, Eigentümer des ’Yellow Productions’- Labels. Der gebürtige Franzose begann seine Karriere bereits mit 18 Jahren unter dem Namen The French Kiss und feierte bald darauf mit dem Song „Gym & Tonic “ (mit Daft Punk) seinen ersten großen Erfolg. Bob Sinclar verbindet erfolgreich House-Beats mit dem typisch französischen House-Stil. 2005 feierte er mit seinem Hit „Love Generation“ (feat. Gary Pine und Goleo VI ) seinen bisher größten Erfolg. Das Lied ist die offizielle Hymne des Fussball-WM Maskottchens ’Goleo VI’. Im Februar ’06 erreichte der Song Platz 1 der deutschen Single-Charts. Am Sonntag werden dann neben Paul Stevens aus Spanien auch Tom Snow, Dj Ronaldo, Dj Smoove, Eric Tyrell, George Leccer und MC Spot den Partypeople noch einmal so richtig beim „Stargate Special“ einheizen. House Liebhaber kommen also voll auf ihre Kosten. Außerdem erwarten die Gäste - ganz nach bekannter Stargate Manier - jede Menge Specials. Heiße Gogos, live Bodypainting und eine spektakuläre Lasershow sind nur einige davon. Schon am Nachmittag wird auf der Wiener Städtische / MTV Insel volles Programm geboten. So zum Beispiel beim SingStar Contest. Alle stimmgewaltigen Besucher des Donauinselfestes können auch heuer wieder ihr Gesangtalent unter Beweis stellen. Den ganzen Tag über finden im PlayStation Zelt bei der Wiener Städtische / MTV Insel die Vorrunden des SingStar Contest statt. Die besten Teilnehmer dürfen dann auf die Bühne um in den Halbfinalrunden (täglich um 13:00, 15:00 und 17:00 Uhr) ihre Mitstreiter in den Schatten zu stellen und um den Einzug ins Finale (täglich um 19:00 Uhr) zu kämpfen. Außerdem wird mitten auf dem Gelände der Wiener Städtische/ MTV Insel mit „Bacardi Island“, eine paradiesische Bacardi-Insel erschaffen, die perfekte Summer Feeling verbreitet. Liegestühle stehen bereit, Limbo wird getanzt & leckere Cocktails werden geschlürft. Pures Summer Feeling am Bacardi Beach garantiert! MTV Programm 10. und 11.06.2006, 20 Uhr: „Best of der letzen Jahre Donauinsel“ auf MTV Österreich, Dauer: 15 Minuten 15. und 16.07.2006, 20 Uhr: „Best of Donauinsel 2006“ auf MTV Österreich und Schweiz, Dauer: 15 Minuten Für alle begeisterten Partypeople, die nach dem Donauinselfest nicht nach Hause gehen, sondern in stimmungsgeladener Clubbing-Atmosphäre weiter feiern wollen, gibt es am Freitag (23.06.60) die offizielle Aftershowparty mit Sarah Main im Rahmen des Pleasure im U4. sonstiges	Bailey: Born and raised in South London DJ Bailey has been exposed to the contemporary underground scene since the age of 11 with his passion of beats starting with Hip Hop & Electro in the early eighties. Bailey�s South London stomping ground was littered with sound systems, one of which he joined, DJing at house parties and making mix tapes. Becoming bored with the mellow hip hop of the late eighties Bailey discovered something new and harder; Acid House � the culture which engulfed him, leading him to the rave scene. It was on this acid house path, in around �91 that he found a turning for hardcore, inspired by the breakbeat element. At the end of this road he entered the door for Drum & Bass. Bailey was soon gaining steam as a DJ by playing on a local pirate station �Energy FM�. It was his ability on that very station that impressed Kemistry and Storm, resulting in them inviting Bailey to play at one of the first Metalheadz club nights at the old Blue Note in 1996. Through moving on the circuit Bailey joined forces with other influential South London selectors and MC�s, forming the Inta Natty crew which consisted of himself, Grooverider and MC Flux amongst others. Bailey soon joined the Groove Connection booking agency which is known for managing Fabio, Grooverider, Jumpin� Jack Frost, Bryan Gee, Storm and Calibre. His bookings have brought him to conquer the world of Drum & Bass by playing in South Africa, Japan, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, America and the majority of Europe. As for the UK, Bailey has been all over the mainland showcasing his DJ skills at many events, some of which include: One Nation, AWOL, Movement, Creamfields, Innovation, Valve, Fabric Live, The End, Dreamscape, Slamming Vinyl not forgetting Goldie�s club Metalheadz and Fabio�s club Swerve both at which he is a resident. His gift for precision and his natural intuition for what the people want has lead 1Xtra BBC to secure Bailey as part of their core starting line up, every Sunday night (10pm � 12am) and in 2003 he won the award for �Best Radio Show� at the Knowledge Drum and Bass Awards beating the likes of Fabio, DJ Hype & Grooverider after only 1 year on the air. Always having a flare for mix tapes Bailey was the natural choice for many projects including mixed CD�s for Knowledge Magazine, Ministry of Sound, and France�s Black label with MC GQ and America�s premier Drum & Bass record store Breakbeat Science. Bailey has also delved into production completing remixes for Roni Size & A Guy Called Gerald gaining the interest of Metalheadz label boss Goldie for a release due in May 2006 for the MDZ �06 LP. Bailey has also set up his underground D&B label Intasound, releasing tracks from cutting edge acts such as Equinox, Miracle & Outrage. Bailey is now an established necessity to the Drum & Bass fraternity, he has the capacity to create a sound through sheer mixology to make an impression and stand out from the crowd of Drum & Bass DJ�s out there. His skills have gained him the accolade that every DJ aspires to � recognition and respect. TC: With his distinctive sound and partnership with Valve recordings TC is making waves in the drum and bass scene. After working for 3 years making music for TV and learning about producing drum and bass, TC sent a demo CD to Dillinja at Valve Recordings and got a call back.... TC has spent the two years since then developing and creating new music to DJ all over the world �I want to make music that can be enjoyed by anyone, I make every style of drum and bass because you never know where you are going to be playing. You might turn up to the gig and there�s 8000 people standing in front of you wanting you to smash it!� TC mixes up all styles of drum and bass from hard Valve sound tunes to liquid with flavors of the Full Cycle sound in there too for the Bristol roots �I like to take the crowd on a bit of a journey for as long as I�ve got, ending with a bit of a crescendo!� He has played in the UK, US and Europe TC started making music just after he left school "it was a lot simpler back then, all I had was my ATARI and a sampler. There was much less to work with but the music had a vibe. I�m still trying to capture the vibe. I spent a long time trying to get the production as good as I can and now I feel I can do both.� He takes a lot of inspiration from the music he heard growing up in St. Paul�s, a vibrant inner city community famed for its West Indian style carnival, as much as its history of riots and major drug problem. �St. Paul�s is cool. You hear a lot of music. I can�t say I�ve never had trouble there, because I have, but I think that kind of thing just teaches you to keep your eyes open!� TC feels very strongly that despite his successes his work is far from over, �I�ll still be spending nights in the lab until everything is just right. In his own words, �The minute you get lazy, the whole thing falls apart around your ears! Sound is something that never stands still, it�s a vibration, if you want to work with sound, you�ve got to keep moving on!� TC Has a label called dub recordings (www.dubrecordings.com) and the club night called �Dub� to build a vibe in Bristol.

Ausserdem wird da der 13. H.A.P.P.Y Geburtstag nachgefeiert, der ja wegen Schlechtewetter am ursprünglichen Termin in der Strandbar Hermann ausgefallen ist. Das heißt auch, dass es kommenden Samstag in der roten Bar die 13 H.A.P.P.Y Jahresfreikarten zu gewinnen gibt, die da hätten verlost werden sollen. Ra'mien schliesst über den Sommer die Pforten, also nochmal ordentlich abfeiern, bevor mit der Closing Party der Sommer so richtig eingeläutet wird.

sonstiges	dj kompact: Dj Kompact alias Matthias Kassmannhuber, ursprünglich aus Gmunden, Oberösterreich stammend ist seit ca. 1999 als DJ/Producer aktiv und hat bei diversen Auftritten, überwiegend im Raum Wien, Graz und Salzburg, schon so manche eingeschlafene Füsse wieder in muntere Tanzbeine verwandelt und das, ohne die magische 100 BPM Grenze zu überschreiten. Der Stil seiner Sets ist keineswegs nur eintöniger KonservenHipHop, sondern vielmehr ein ewig den Groove suchender Wechsel zwischen beatbetontem Underground-, Instrumental-, und manchmal einer Prise MainstreamHipHop, jedoch fernab von jeglichen BlingBling - Klischees. Musikrichtungen die ihn und seine Sets bzw. Produktionen massgeblich beeinflussen sind unter anderem Dub, Soul, Jazz, Reggae und Jungle, daneben aber auch Produzenten wie Fat Jon, Pete Rock oder RJD2. All diese Einflüsse verschmelzen hinter den Plattentellern bei jedem Gig zu einer erfrischenden Einheit, die nicht nur HipHop aficionados zum Kopfnicken animiert. er präsentiert seine erste ep "de fruucht" mit der live rhythm combo; man kann sich auf live gespielten instrumental hip hop freuen! Rotaug; Kulturverein mit Hauptsitz in Wien besteht aus 13 Mitgliedern und versteht sich als "mixed media artist collective". Bereiche die das Kollektiv abdeckt sind u.a.: Photographie, Graffiti, Webdesign und Djing. Die Besetzung bei den Auftritten variiert von mal zu mal, wie auch die Musikrichtung. Diese ist meist irgendwo zwischen HipHop, Jungle/DnB, Dancehall, Ragga, Groove und Breakbeat angesiedelt.

Mit ihrem Album „+1“ (Release 24.05.04) setzten Pink Elln und Dandy Jack wieder einmal Maßstäbe. Es zelebriert mit einer lässigen Professionalität die Einheit der Sinnesfreuden: Sehen, Höhren, Fühlen… Seit mehr als 20 Jahren betreiben die Sieg über die Sonne-Visionäre Feldforschung im Bereich der der elektronischen Tanzmusik, was sie in zahlreichen Studio- und Liveprojekten, sowie mit Remixen (Tobi Neumann, Ricardo Villalobos, 2raum Wohnung uvm.) verfeinert haben. Man darf sich gespannt freuen auf ihr Live-Set, das bestimmt über den Sonnenaufgang hinaus im Gehörgang bleibt. Unterstützung bekommen die Sieg über die Sonne-Jungs von Mathias Schaffhäuser. Seit 1994 streift er durch die Techno- und House-Gefilde der Musikwelt und landetet 2001 mit „Hey Little Girl“ einen veritablen Clubhit. An den Plattentellern heißt es für ihn: Purismus saugt, Schubladen gehören in Muttis Abstellkammer. Die Qualität der Musik steht für Schaffhäuser im Vordergrund. British Murder Boys are not DJs in the conventional sense, they occupy the grey area between live act and DJ using and abusing modern technologies for their performance. MISTRESS BARBARA (misstressbarbara.com / Canada) Mistress BarbaraBorn under the Sagittarius sign, in Sicily, Italy, 1975, Misstress Barbara (spelled with 4"s" to understand 'miss' and 'stress') moved to Montreal at age 8, where she has lived ever since. She holds a degree in Communication Studies, specialized in Film, and obtained a license to fly gliders and Cessna airplanes at age 16. Her creative involvement with music began when she picked up the drums at age 12 and started playing in bands. For the next seven years she was absorbed by classic rock, by punk music, and all the hard music of the time. In 1994 her musical interests shifted to electronic music. While attending numerous events, she literally fell in love with watching DJs work. Amazed by the beauty of the movement of their hands, she wanted to achieve the same talent and make everyone dance, so a year later she traded in her drum kit for two turntables and a mixer. In the spring of 1996, she got her first booking and hasn't looked back since; playing all the major cities from North to South America, Europe and Asia along with Australia. Misstress Barbara has played alongside the most respected artists such as Bjork, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Masters at Work, Tiesto, Sven Vaeth and many others. Her various musical tastes have led her to play many important clubs worldwide like Twilo (NYC, USA), Velvet Underground (London, UK), The Womb (Tokyo, Japan), Stereo (Montreal, Canada), Florida 135 (Fraga, Spain), Zouk (Singapore), Rex (Paris, France), Aloca (Sao Paulo, Brazil), just to name a few. She is also a regular at the Godskitchen Events around the UK and in their Birmingham club Air. She has also played many big events like SONAR (Spain), AWAKENINGS (Holland), I LOVE TECHNO (Belgium), MONEGROS (Spain), and one of her highlights from the beginnings of her DJ career was playing at "Fashion Cares" in Toronto; a 5000 people AIDS-Benefit fashion show party, hosted by K.D. Lang and Rupaul. When she first began performing she described her main style as "Drummy Funky Pumpin' Techno" and her most important musical influences came from the shuffling of Jazz and from the repetitive grooves of Latin Music. Regardless of the influences, her typical hard beats had always been the driving force in her sets and these elements were immediately recognizable in her productions. Progression is natural in an artist’s career and Barbara is no different. These days she is playing a groovy techy, minimal and electro funk filled sound, constantly pushing her own limits to evolve with the music she hears and appreciates. As she puts it, she still has love for the techno sound she became notorious for, but at the same time, wants to play all new wonderful sounds and rhythms from a multitude of different genres. She can be very different from one production and record to another, yet never lose the common threads between shifts in sound or style. Barbara began buying studio equipment shortly after the beginning of her DJ career and spent the next twelve months familiarizing herself with the equipment and working on original tracks without really finishing them. The real work started once she finished university and dedicated herself full time to a solid studio work. She created her very popular Techno label RELENTLESS MUSIC in 1999, which name had to be changed in the beginning of 2003 to avoid legal issues with another company holding the same name in the UK. This is when she created ITURNEM. Barbara has a weakness for House Music and for that, she created the alias name of Barbara Brown, to produce and play House Music without confusing her fans and the people who buy her Techno tunes. Now when she reflects on this difference in identity, she wishes that instead of creating an alias to play different styles of music to lessen the confusion of her fans, it might have been a better choice to remain always as Misstress Barbara, and just be known for playing good music of all genres. It is a given that she built her career on Techno, but as all people do, she evolved and wanted to open her record box to all genres of fantastic music, stepping outside the techno sound she is branded for. As a producer, Barbara has accomplished quite a lot. She has released records on some of the most respected Techno labels on the planet and she also had a few of her tracks licensed for films and videogames. In 2002, her very popular track 'Never Could Have Your Heart' has been licensed for the Play Station 2 videogame 'Midnight Club II’, she also has had her track ‘Crash and Burn’ licensed to the film ‘Saved By The Belles’ and ‘Effett Karma’ licensed to Montreal film ‘Pure’ that is being presented at Cannes. She plans on doing more music for all forms of media and focusing on more cross-over oriented projects in the future, to advance her career as a producer. We will see a lot more of Barbara in the decade of 2000 and beyond... CAVE vs. ORTIN CAN live! "To me the best DJs always select the best bits from a wide range of sounds and put them together in a way that just makes sense to people." It's certainly making sense to lots of people at the moment. Already well established for his tweaked out sets with the likes of tyrant and Sasha at fabric, and a well thumbed global passport, he's really come to the fore this year thanks to a succession of well received productions on labels such as Alternative Route, Big Love and Sabotage. - and one of the best essential mix debuts ever. Radio One, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ have all been quick to cite him as one to watch this year - with his first mix cd 'Heretic' set for an autumn release on Sabotage. Forthcoming remixes and projects with the likes of Brancaccio and Aisher, Alex Neri, Nic Fanciulli and Paul Woolford are set to raise his bar even higher. He also runs Music Is Freedom and Orcmusic record labels, which have consistently attracted good reviews for the past 2 years. He contributes productions and remixes to both regularly, and sees them as the cornerstone of his music output.
