Nachdem das Afterworx.com am 6.Oktober die Herbst-/Wintersaison mit einer bombastischen Party eröffnet hat, wird ab sofort das neu renovierte Moulin Rouge das Afterworx.com beheimaten. Somit verwandelt sich die rote Mühle jeden Donnerstag in den Hotspot der Woche! Wer den Arbeitsstress hinter sich lassen möchte und seinen Feierabend bei guter Musik in einer coolen Location genießen will, weiß wo er dies nun tun kann, denn beim Afterworx.com wird jeden Donnertag bis in die frühen Morgenstunden gefeiert, getanzt und geflirtet was das Zeug hält. Leckere Cocktails, coole House Musik und groovige Hits lassen den Abend zu einem idealen Warm-Up fürs Wochenende werden. Man kann sich wie schon im Sommer auf viele Specials freuen! Außerdem gibt’s ab Oktober alle Cocktails zwischen 20:00-22:00 um nur €5 und sowohl Ladies, als auch Jungs genießen von 20:00-22:00 gratis Eintritt! |

Galaxy 2 Galaxy is a band that was conceptualized with the first hitech Jazz record produced by UR in 1986/87 and later released in 1990 which was "Nation 2 Nation" (UR-005). Jeff Mills and Mike Banks had visions of Jazz music and musicians operating on the same "man machine" doctrine dropped on them from Kraftwerk. Early experiments with synthesisers and jazz by artists like Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Weather Report, Return to Forever, Larry Heard and Lenny Whites Astral Pirates also pointed them in this direction. UR went on to produce and further innovate this form of music which was coined "Hitech Jazz" by fans after the historic 1993 release of UR's "Galaxy 2 Galaxy" (UR-025) album which included the underground UR smash titled "Hitech Jazz" It was at this point rumours of a possible tour for "Galaxy 2 Galaxy" surfaced. Banks considered many offers but UR's intense production schedule, inherent reclusiveness and inability to find the right circumstances all led to this tour never materializing. It wasn't until 2001 when called on by lifetime UR member Jeff Mills for a conceptual show he was doing in Tokyo called "Time Sensitive" that Banks decided it was time to roll. Knowing that Jeff would create the correct atmosphere for the band Banks decided to do a small 4 man band called "Timeline" which conviently fitted in with Jeff's concept as well as representing a cross section of time with varying UR band members ranging from old battle hardened veterans to new up and coming artists/Dj's. Timeline was an experiment to see if this man machine/jazz concept could work live if so then Galaxy 2 Galaxy would surely be born. Consequently the Jeff Mills "Time Sensitive" show was a huge success! Timeline went on to play Rome and Bologna, Italy!! Also with great results. Upon returning from these experimental outings UR determined that it was indeed time for "Galaxy 2 Galaxy" A self titled compilation album was completed. And the shadowy members of G2G were assembled and informed of the experimental nature of their mission. Primed and ready to go the band stands ready to demonstrate the sonic possibilties when man and machine musically respect each others abilities. Los Hermanos literally translated from Spanish into English means "The Brothers". But for those involved in Los Hermanos it means much more. It means a coming together of people from different cultures, enivoronments, skills and spirit. For the purpose of Music. Los Hermanos is the brainchild of Gerald Mitchell and DJ Rolando Rocha. After their immensely successfull underground smash "Jaguar" released by the mysterious Detroit label Underground Resistance in 1998. The two producers convinced UR label owner "Mad Mike Banks" to back their fledgling label idea as it became painfully obvious from the massive response of the Latino and Black house music communities and the tech/house movement worldwide that more music of this style was needed! In 2002 after 4 years of whitelabel testing Los Hermanos was launched as an UR imprint label. With the first official release (LH-001) entitled "The Birth of 3000" a record that celebrated long time Detroit mainstay Submerge Distribution's move to a new building located on the same street as former Detroit powerhouse "Motown" was located on. It was clear that Detroit indeed had birthed a new sound. The infectous blend of Latin Rhythm and soulfull gospel chording from Los Hermano's main man and driving force "Gerald Mitchell" in combination with the skillfull DJing talents of Rolando and the djing and post production prowess of Los Angeles implants DJ Dex and Santiago Salazar playing the records out while on tour along with Isela Salazar and the Submerge team making sure the Los Hermanos records got to where they were supposed to go on time! Helped to spread the now globally recognized sound. Los Hermanos is a great example for all of us of what understanding, respect, togetherness and the spirit can achieve to take all of us to another level. |
