KORG has a way of coming up with hardware that's fun to use. The KORG KAOSSILATOR, a simple, cheap AA battery-powered box packed with sound-making functionality, had already won some hearts over. Touch its X/Y pad, and the KAOSSILATOR responds with built-in synth programs and arpeggiators, all mapped cleverly to the touchpad to stay in the key range you desire.
The KAOSSILATOR Pro really appears to be a hybrid of the KAOSSILATOR and KORG's KP3 effects/sampler box. In fact, it's really closer in appearance and function to the KP3. Like the KP3, the "Pro" has phrase sampling capabilities and effects, so you can route in an audio source or mic, and store banks of sampled phrases on SD card. It simply combines that with the playable instruments of the KAOSSILATOR.
The upshot of all of this, of course, is that you get a box you can play like an instrument, use as an effects box, use as a sampler, or a combination of all three. And while that sacrifices some of the simplicity of the KAOSSILATOR, that could be a potent combination. For effects, you get gate arpeggiators for rhythmic effects and vocoders that work with your mic. I'll need to get a rundown from KORG on the exact specs — it looks like the KP3 is still a beefier sampler and effects box than the KAOSSILATOR Pro. But even if that's the case, it could be more than worth the tradeoff for getting the instrument in there, too. I know plenty of users, casual and advanced, addicted to the KAOSSILATOR; the ability to plug in a mic and use a vocoder is likely to win more.
KORG, you just won a spot on our NAMM booth itinerary. And yeah, this could be a fun box to have around or even plug into a laptop.
Sure, it seems like the easy way out – take two things people love, squish them together, and people will love the result. That can't work, can it?

Sehr geil. Nette Ergänzung.
Will da nix falsches sagen, aber theoretisch eigentlich ein KP3 mit anderer Software (ach ja und neue Beleuchtung).

geilo... werde mal auf youtube videos usw. warten um zu sehen was das teil kann.
kaossilatior hätte ich so oder so gern als ergänzung zu meinem KP3 ... und das ding mit einem KP3 zusammen
würde auch sicher sehr sehr schick aussehen. 
für ein unwissendes publikum dann natürlich umso futuristischer
wenn der live-act nur noch auf roten und grünen blinkenden touchscreens rumfummelt. 
edit: ich setz das einfach schon mal auf meine weihnachtsliste für heuer.

nice - das erste video is net so der hammer aber der typ im zweiten hats auch ein wenig mehr drauf. 
ich werd das echt im auge behalten. wär fein damit mal rumspielen zu können aber irgendwie steht für mich schon

naja gearlust. aber das jammen mit dem kp3 is einfach so lässig - da wär das ding irgendwie eine gute ergänzung.
wirklich zum producen macht die kombi natürlich kaum sinn. aber mich interessiert eh nur noch jammen.
is ja mein hobby - kein beruf.

Entschuldigt falls es etwas Off-Topic ist aber hab mal eine Frage:
Und zwar, hab hier ein Kaoss Pad stehn und der Kaossilator hat zumindest von außen die gleiche Hardware. Wäre es also nicht rein theoretisch möglich einfach die Kaossilatorsoftware draufzuspielen?

Nein.
Würde mich seeeeeehr wundern wenn das geht. Denn ich glaube kaum, dass die Dinger (ich nehme an du sprichst jetzt von KPmini und dem original Kaossilator) innen auch die gleiche Hardware haben. Außerdem - würde das gehen hätte es schon jemand gemacht und ein YouTube
Video davon ins Netz gestellt.
edit: Ich warte ja noch sehnsüchtig darauf, dass der Kaossilator Pro endlich unters Volk kommt und vernünftige Reviews (am besten in Form von Videos) erscheinen. Noch scheint es ja nur die Demovideos von dieser Messe zu geben. Ich brauch schon ein wenig mehr Info als nur von Herstellerseite.

Nein ich mein den Pro bzw das KP3 - die hätten ja sogar USB da müssste man doch irgendwie zugreifen können

glaub ich ehrlich gesagt auch nicht, hab schon so manches Korg dingens offen gehabt, (alte & neue Electribes) die ham z.B. gleiche Platinen, aber bei dem einen sind dort Bauteile bestückt woanders dann nicht.
Ausserdem vermut ich das die den DSP auch aufgemotzt haben... ich mein, ist doch schon um einiges mehr, was es jetzt kann?
