Just Jack über Laura Jones:

Her debut track 'Intentions' spent the summer being regularly unleashed on DC10 crowds by the likes of Seth Troxler, Shaun Reeves and Ryan Crosson. The Leeds based producer's first foray into production was released on Matt Tolfrey's Left'd label in September and a follow up release is set to drop on Left’d’s vinyl big brother Leftroom later in the Autumn. With such an esteemed start in production it’s no surprise then that Laura’s first proper excursions behind a DJ booth were for influential underground nights, Mulletover and Below.

"It's a real pleasure being asked to put a mix together for one of Bristol's finest club nights. I've tried to create a snapshot of the musical influences and sounds that I'm really loving out there at the moment. There's a mixture of old and new, a couple of old favourites of mine as well as a couple of upcoming unreleased tracks of some REALLY cool up and coming artists. There's also a couple of mine thrown in there for good measure including my new track 'Love In Me' coming out on Leftroom next month. The aim of the game is to make you boogie and smile. Hope it does just that. Big love"

Interview mit Laura Jones

IF first impressions count for anything, then Laura Jones sure is destined for big things. The young DJ and producer is not only a classically-trained pianist and singer, and even studied the cello and clarinet as a child too just for good measure, but those experiences have clearly stood her in good stead if her stylish and melodic early forays into house music are anything to go by.

The Leeds-based musician has quickly turned the heads of much-rated labels. Left’d released her ear-catching debut Intentions during the back half of last year, a cut which had already been part of the summer soundtrack at Ibiza’s DC-10, while the imprint’s vinyl big brother Leftroom as well as the equally-respected Visionquest have also been quick to sign-up EPs from the clearly-talented Ms. Jones.

Now with her first major stints behind the DJ booth under her belt, bringdownthewalls caught up with Jones ahead of her debut at the forthcoming You Are We party on May 1 in London.

ab 19:00 Uhr - Dampf presents DISTORTIONS

Mit der Gruppenausstellung DISTORTIONS sind zum zweiten Mal in Folge internationale Gäste im PS ArtSpace.

Die junge Künstlergruppe, bestehend aus

Elinor Ingemann, Nadine Kreter, Jessica Mairs, Takeshi Shinomitsu, Annie Strachan, Catherine Taylor

verbindet das gemeinsame Studium am Chelsea Art College in London. Sie beschäftigen sich in ihren für die Ausstellung im PS ArtSpace konzipierten Arbeiten mit dem Thema der Verzerrungen und nähern sich dem Begriff aus unterschiedlichen Positionen.

laut neuestem stand erwarten uns warme 28 grad untertags und wunderbare 20 bis 21 in der nacht.

nichtsdestotrotz haben wir uns gegen die poolparty entschieden.

es gibt sound ab 19:00 uhr von veronika amie (club pompadour) & robin ma'ar (shake ur beaver) auf der terrasse und zeitgleich startet auch die vernissage: distortions im ps artspace.

eintrittsregelung:

free bis 21:00 / 10,- bis 24:00 / 12,- danach


am abend dann eine 2 floor action, aufteilung folgt noch.
