It's been quite a ride so far and 2009 will be Christian Smith's busiest year to date. Having recently relocated to Sao Paulo, Brazil, he has signed an album deal for three compilations with Renaissance, one of the most important and recognisable brands in world clubbing; putting Christian on a footing with acts such as John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela and Steve Lawler.

From being a shy, talented DJ plying his trade as resident at his local club, to becoming a global superstar, the rise and rise of Nic Fanciulli has been well documented. He has graced countless covers of the most respected dance publications whilst his name repeatedly pops up when clubbers discuss the finest DJ talent in recent years. With a list of achievements that already overshadows many DJs ten years his senior, its clear that Nic Fanciulli has proven how combining genuine talent with dedication can go a long way. And whilst his record label, residencies, productions and compilations continue to open the ears of thousands of people across the planet, the fact he has a whole host of future projects up his sleeve reveals the best is still to come.

Sebastien Leger (Mistakes music)

Sebastien Leger begins 2010 in fine form. His label, Mistakes, has further strengthened his role as one of Europe’s leading proponents of contemporary underground techno. The antithesis of the showman that is fellow countryman, David Guetta, Leger mines a wholly different vein, updating the rich musical histories of Detroit and Chicago with a quiet determination and no-nonsense approach.His much lauded musical ability stems from a classical background, but formal training is but one half of the story; having served his ‘apprenticeship’ in clubs around France in his teens.

2009 was Alan Fitzpatrick's year. Having enjoyed a rapid ascent from the new kid on the techno block to a highly respected and in-demand producer, the last half of 2009 saw Alan go from strenght to strenght with critical acclaim for his productions and demand for his DJing coming from all corners of the globe. Currently locked away in the studio, writing his debut album for Adam Beyer's Drumcode label, this highly anticipated long-player marks the culmination of a run of hot productions that led to hime being publically namechecked as one of the most exciting producers in techno by Adam Beyer, Dubfire and Carl Cox and BBC Radio 1 Essential New Tune for his anthemic Reflections single on Bedrock. Such was his dominance that at one point in September Alan had an amazing eight tracks in Beatport's techno top 100.

Reset Robot (Roomba Music, Sci+Tec)

Reset Robot is a relatively new name that will be increasingly familiar to fans of dubbed-out and moody tech house all over the world. Having released a series of well-received tracks on key labels including Excentric Muzik, 8 Sided Dice, Sound Of Acapulco and Noir already in 2009, Reset Robot recently made a debut on Dubfire’s Sci+Tec Digital Audio imprint to crown what has been an amazing start his career. There is more to come too with a follow up EP on Sci+Tec, releases to come on 100% Pure, Tronic, Sprout and Suara and the launch of Reset Robot’s label, Roomba Music.
